The product, in the report: Jungle Gym Kingdom Swingset hanger. Model Jungle Gym Kingdom Swing Set Brackets - Heavy Duty
I purchased Amazon’s Choice swing set hangers for my granddaughter’s swing set. Twice I had to re-tighten the swing hooks because they came loose and alerted us by making noise. The last time I was stabbed by part of the thread pulling out of the (aluminum?) on the back side of one of the hooks. I purchased steel carabiners (aka ‘welded quick-link connectors’) to replace the ones that came with the hangers. I decided to look more carefully at the thousands of Amazon customer reviews for the hangers that I bought. Many reviewers complained about the lack of instructions. I don’t believe that I got any either but cavalierly felt that they were not necessary for a do-it-yourselfer. But compare the top of Amazon’s listings Easy to assemble, our ceiling swing hooks are great for DIYers to set up anywhere inside & outside with the bottom of page’s Important information Legal Disclaimer Jungle Gym Kingdom recommends the use of a professional contractor for all of your product installations. And also note All Play Equipment must be inspected and periodically retighten hardware. All swivels must maintain regular greasing. Swivels? Do they mean the moving parts of these hangers? And if so, since instructions are often not included, greased with what material? How often is regular greasing? Further, since unlike oil or spray lubricant, there’s no way to get grease into the moving parts of the hangers, do they expect customers to remove the lock nut and then unscrew the bolt to get access? Further, on Jungle Gym Kingdom’s website: LUBRICATION is not necessary for maintenance - Residential Use only, Not for Commercial Use. Per the Amazon’s listing, one hanger (or perhaps two hangers) supposedly will support 2400 pounds but it’s doubtful that the ceiling swing hooks will as they appear to be made of aluminum. Note: Amazon’s Choice Stainless Steel Carabiner supports up to 460 pounds. The more that I read the more I became concerned about the safety of the hangers and hooks. I read about failures from customer reviews by [REDACTED] I’m very concerned about the safety of this product. Please investigate.
