My grandson and his cousin were playing on this Flexible Flyer Play Park Swing Set, Model 46604T, when one of the four bar attachments to the lawn swing came apart and they crashed to the ground. My wife and I bought this for them around October 2016 for their Christmas present. The problem is that the phillips screw goes into a threaded sleeve that has a hex head on it with a lock washer. There are two pieces of black plastic that straddle each of the four bars and this screw and sleeve hold it all together. If you tighten this up too much, then the swing will not swing smoothly because the black plastic is being squeezed too much and making a terrible noise. They should have used a longer screw that would have bottomed out or tightened in the sleeve. We bought the same model for my son’s kids and he just had the same thing happen with his 5 yr old on the two seater air glider. Only difference was that his son hit the ground hard and ended up in the ER this week. Xrays showed that he had no injuries and was released to go home. My son will be contacting also.

(06/08/2017) The consumer stated that her four year granddaughter was swinging on the set. She wanted to swing a little higher, so someone pushed the swing. When this was done, the child slid off of the swing but did not get hurt .
The consumer thought maybe the four year old did not know how to use the swing so she told her 10 year old granddaughter to get on the swing to show the four year old what to do. The ten year old slid off the swing also.
The consumer stated that the seats are made of a hard plastic which causes anyone to slide off.
(06/12/2017) The consumer stated that her daughter called the firm on Monday. She was advised that the swings are made that way. The consumer was offered three difference swings to replace the swings but at a cost to her. The consumer denied the offer. The operator hung up on consumer’s daughter.

We purchased a Flexible Flyer Play Park model 46604T on July 15, 2015. The metal chin bar (part 4B) attached to the wave slide assembly has rusted and broken in half. The result is that the metal chin bar has fallen down with rusty jagged edges exposed. Product obviously began rusting during warranty period but did not break until after warranty had expired. The slide assembly mounting bracket (part BR2) is also significantly rusted. I have pictures and am attempting to attach them, but I am unsure that the uploader is working properly with Safari.

The product, in the report: Swing seat of a Flexible Flyer swing set
We have had a swing set made by Flexible Flyer for about three years. This past Sunday (November 30, 2014), my 6 year old daughter was swinging on one of the swings. A few minutes later, she came screaming to me holding her hands up in the air. I asked her what happened and she told me that she had fallen off the swing. I asked how she fell off and she said that the swing broke. I looked at the swing and the seat was broken in half. Luckily, when the seat broke, my daughter was holding on to the chains and when she fell, she landed on her butt. She did have cuts, scrapes, and pinch marks on her fingers, hands, and wrists. I am still horrified at what could have happened had she not been holding on so well or if it had been my 4 year old son swinging since he only knows how to swing laying over the swing on his stomach. I contacted Flexible Flyer about this incident and all they did was say they were sorry and offered to sell me two replacement swings. I would hate to hear of another kid getting hurt or worse from these swings breaking in half. I would think they could find a material that doesn’t break in half after only 3 years of sporadic use. Thank you.

The consumer stated that her 4 years old daughter (42lbs) was playing on the swing of her swing set and the chain snapped. The consumer stated that the left chain broke apart right in the middle while her daughter was swinging back and forth. She stated that her daughter slid down from the left side of the plastic seat and fell to the ground. She stated that her daughter fell to side landing the left side of her face. The consumer stated that her daughter was not hurt and did not need any medical attention.
The consumer stated that she was aware that this swing set had a recall (#12-220) for the see saw seats and it was replaced.
The consumer stated that she contacted the manufacturer and they requested for her to email them pictures of the broken swing.
The consumer believes this product should be investigated for the fall hazard that it continues to pose to children.

My 3 year old son was playing on the glider on his flexible flyer swingset, model number 46604, when I noticed the seat was starting to fall down. I removed him from the glider and noticed the bolt and the rubber piece that holds the bars in on top of the swingset were coming apart and had fallen off. This swingset is only a year old and is minimally used. He was not injured, but if I had not been right by his side and removed him, the glider would have completely come off of the swingset.

I bought a flexible flyer swing set for my son last Christmas. He is 3 years old and the only child that plays on it. Shortly after buying it the see-saw broke off. We just put it to the side since he has no one to play with anyway. About a week ago we noticed the slide has a big crack in it. If my son goes down the slide it will cut him. I saw that there was a recall for the see-saw already. The crack goes across the slide the whole width of it. It sticks up so can not be used. Luckily my son noticed and pointed it out before letting go and sliding down. Also he is 3 years old now.

I PURCHASED THIS SWING SET FOR MY 4 YR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER WHO WEIGHS 30 POUNDS. WITHIN 1 WEEK OF USE, THE SEE-SAW SEATS BROKE OFF AND SENT HER TO THE GROUND, LUCKILY WITH NO SERIOUS INJURY. I CALLED THE COMPANY AND THEY SAID IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THEY SENT ME 2 MORE SEATS AS UPON INSPECTION THE OTHER WAS ALSO CRACKED (SHE WOULD SWITCH SIDES WHEN USING AND WE WOULD PUSH HER UP AND DOWN) I NOW HEAR THIS PRODUCT IS UNDER RECALL FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM AND THEY WANT TO SEND ME ANOTHER “FIX” FOR THE SEE-SAW...THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I AM RETURNING FOR A REFUND AND WILL PURCHASE A BETTER MADE, HIGHER QUALITY SET. THIS SET IS INEXPENSIVE, BUT I TRULY THOUGHT BY THE BRAND NAME OF FLEXIBLE FLYER IT WOULD BE A GOOD QUALITY...MY MISTAKE.

We received the Troxel Triple Fun II model #42560 swing set as a gift in March 2012. Within a month both seats broke off the see saw. I have 2 year old twins and had no idea why the seats broke off. I was extremely disappointed to have a swing set fully installed in backyard then have part of it break within a month! My mother-in-law purchased the swing set online thru Walmart.com and had it shipped to our local walmart for us to pick up. I tried to contact walmart on several occasions to find out about getting the seats replaced, but never heard from anyone. I have been frustrated for the last few months trying to find out how to get it fixed.

I purchased a swing set from Wal-Mart.com back in March of 2012 for my Grandson’s 4th birthday. It was the Triple Fun 2 swingset...i paid $145.00 . We put it up approximately 5 weeks ago after his birthday party.It was not the swing set I wanted but the one I wanted was not available. I saw that this had a seesaw and thought he and his 2 year old brother would like it. They were excited to get on the swingset and I was a happy Grandma. 2 weeks later, my son called me and informed me that my Grandsons were playing on it and the seesaw seat had broken. My 4 year old Grandson had a laceration on his thigh and was terrified. Now he will not even go near the swingset, he is afraid that the swings will fall. So I paid 145.00 for a cheaply made swingset sitting in the back yard. Needless to say I am more than a little upset. It is just a little bit too big to disassemble and return! I honestly and thinking of filing a major complaint with Flexible Flyer. a name that USED to mean quality!!!! So I was not surprised when I saw today at my local Wal-Mart that it had been recalled!!!!

I reported a problem with a flexible flyer swing set in 08/18/09 to you. A agent came and looked at the slide on the swing set. he found to be a hazard and flexible flyer sent a replacement. Now the product is failing in the same area with a crack in the slide area,The agent was [REDACTED] from the Oradell N.J. office I was wondering if the slide has ever been recalled or should I contact Flexible Flyer to see if there is a replacement. I know it has been almost 3 years but it has cracked in the same area, the original slide cracked in less than 2 months if I recall correctly
