The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Jan 2, 2023, sent to the company Jan 5, 2023, published by CPSC Jan 20, 2023

The product, in the report: Costway 6-in-1 toddler climber and swing set with basketball hoop and football gate backyard 82in x 68.5in x 45.5in (LxWxH) [REDACTED]

I put together the product per instructions. Placed my child in the swing, gave a slight push to the swing. My child leaned slightly forward and the entire swing seat toppled over, Childs leg was stuck in the leg piece, and child landed on their head with leg still stuck. If child had not be quickly lifted and caught by parent child’s leg could easily have been broken. Additionally there is no lap belt, or safety harness of any sort to prevent child from falling out of seat. I reached out to the company and am awaiting reply.

The product, in the report: The product is called “Costway 3-Person Polyester Patio Swing Canopy Yard Furniture with Green Cushions”. Dimensions are: depth 7 in, height 21 in, width 56 in. The product is described at https://www.homedepot.com/p/Costway-3-Person-Polyester-Patio-Swing-Canopy-Yard-Furniture-with-Green-Cushions-OP3192BL/314153694.

While gently swinging on a Costway 3-Person Polyester Patio Swing Canopy Yard Furniture with Green Cushions (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Costway-3-Person-Polyester-Patio-Swing-Canopy-Yard-Furniture-with-Green-Cushions-OP3192BL/314153694), one of the bars holding the seat snapped causing me to fall on the ground. No injury happened as a result of this, but given the sudden drop and adjacency to metal bars, it is easy to imagine someone getting hurt in a similar encounter.
