No incident, no one hurt Made Aug 23, 2026, sent to the company Sep 10, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 24, 2026
The product, in the report: Avenlur Forest Small Outdoor Toddler Swing Set. Wooden backyard toddler playset containing climbing stairs, platform deck, yellow handles, and a slide frame. 153.3in x 69.2in x 78in
We bought the Avenlur’s Forest Small toddler swing set on March 8, 2026. Within just three months of normal backyard use, the wood became heavily moldy. The worst of the mold is growing directly on the panels right next to the yellow climbing handles and the main entryway. Because this is a playset for toddlers, my child can’t climb up or use it without putting their hands and face right on the mold. This is an immediate safety and health hazard for young children. On top of that, the mold is sinking deep into the wood grain, which makes me deeply concerned about the safety of the climbing frame.
This goes against Avenlur’s advertising, which claims the set is made of “real solid wood” that is “naturally weather-resistant” and built for the outdoors. When I reached out about the danger, Avenlur completely ignored and ghosted me for two months. Their website chat wipes out history after 7 days, which seems like a way to erase consumer complaints. They even promised a callback on August 12 and never called. They are ignoring a serious safety issue with a children’s product just to avoid giving a refund. The playset is completely unusable and dangerous. I have already filed a formal complaint with the [REDACTED], but Avenlur is using stalling tactics there as well, leaving me with no choice but to report this product safety hazard to the government.
