The product, in the report: Timberwolf or Wolf Steel Ltd Pellet Stove model# TPS35. Submitter has Product - No - returned to retailer on 1/2/14-Adirondick Hardware. The consumer was required to purchase more expensive model that did not have defect. ($540.00) Contacted manufacturer - There was no answer @ number provided in owner’s manual.
Caller is reporting that this pellet stove has a defective design.
The owners manual recommends outdoor air for combustion but to gain this outside air it would require that you drill an outside hole. THIS WAS DONE. The pipe that you hook between the outdoor air and the pellet stove is drawing air into the house but stops on the inside of the unit just inside the pipe. AIR PS DUMPED INTO THE ROOM AS THERE IS AN 18 INCH GAP BETWEEN OUTSIDE AIR CONDUIT AND COMBUSTION CHAMBER. Because the pipe does not continue into the combustion chamber, the blower stops while combustion is happening the smoke is released into the air in the room.
Caller has pictures that he will attach to returned incident report.
Caller has not contacted the manufacturer but will continue with his attempts. No answer
