No incident, no one hurt Made Mar 15, 2023, sent to the company Mar 20, 2023, published by CPSC Apr 4, 2023
The product, in the report: Pellet stove, used to heat structures with renewable biomass wood pellets
Pelpro pp70 pellet stove. The door latch broke off what looks like due to poor welding and materials. No injuries occurred, thankfully occurred right as I opened the fire door to clean stove. If this were to break off while the stove is running, it would have caused a fire and burnt down my home. Who knows if anyone would have been hurt/killed. There is no door sensor for auto shut off and with this weak of a piece that is supposed to keep fire door closed, this can be very hazardous. Company was aware of issue but did not send out notice but buried on their website that owners of my particular model (and others) can get a free new door latch for their stove as a replacement.

First aid Made Feb 23, 2022, sent to the company Feb 24, 2022, published by CPSC Mar 10, 2022
The product, in the report: Wood pellet heating stove. Pelpro 60.
new wood pellet heating stove, I installed professionally according to local laws, the door lock that seals the fire in the stove broke, spewing fire and smoke into the room. I managed to extinguish. I called the company-Pelpro stoves, and the tech person said that is a known issue with the pelpro 60 stove and he would send me a replacement handle/door locking device. I have not received the fixed door lock yet, after 2 weeks. A DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD ON A NEW DEVICE THE COMPANY KNEW ABOUT, AND SHIPPED ANYWAY? Pelpro stoves, bought thru Menards.
