The product, in the report: Electric smokehouse grill
The consumer says the unit stopped working. He says it was on for about 4 hours before the incident. Upon inspection he discovered the connector to the heating element was burned in two. The consumer says he noticed melted plastic and uninsulated wire that could come in contact with metal posing a fire or shock hazard. The consumer contacted the manufacturer who was very unhelpful and said it was not replaceable. They told him it is no longer being made. The consumer says that it is not the element but the wiring and connector to the element that is bad. The consumer says that if he didn’t open it up, he wouldn’t have noticed it. He says that is the real danger. The unit was used approximately 12 times before the failure.
