The product, in the report: King Pellet Stove
I had purchased a King Pellet Stove in September or 2018, at Tractor Supply Co, the stove was installed in October of 2018 oer manufacturers instructions using the recommended ventilation kit purchased also at Tractor Supply. Upon initial start of the unit , it had what was expected as a “burn in” period where you could expect the burn off smell of a paint etc in a new heating product. However, this unit shut down and failed to eject the smoke contained in the unit and smoke emitted into the basement area of my home. Also the unit burned extremely dirty leaving large deposits of unburned pellets and residue. I also explained the unit was feeding pellets too fast, I had made a call the following business day to the customer service number provided in the owners manual. I had an extremely hard time talking to a representative, and you do not know if you are actually talking to a technical agent or not, after spending hours both calling and texting messages. These issues were brought up in a BBB complaint, filed in November 2018. Customer service personnel instructed me to make adjustments on the control panel, the unit (once I got a hold of one, and would not tell me if they were “technical” support or customer) in which resulted in the unit again burning off excess smoke filling my basement again with smoke, again many calls made back and once someone got back to me I explained the issues, not burning correctly( sent them pictures and videos of what was happening and the installation, also feeding too many pellets, again they gave me adjustment to make and finally it got to where the unit just filled and over filled the pellet bowl and would not light, and the one time it did an extremely large fire inside with all the pellets and I shutdown unit, In the mean time the customer service representative stated they would first send me a new blower unit, now this is brand new barely 3 bags of pellets through it, and another stated they would send an ignition card, both times I explained how would I know how to install these, and they said to you-tube it! I reminded them that in their instruction manual it specifically states to NEVER try to repair or replace any parts of the stove unless instructions for doing so are in the manual, in which they are not. This is stated twice in the manual, first page and page 17., thus contradicting their safety instructions. I reached an exchange agreement with Tractor Supply since I was outside their 30 day return policy as well as filing a BBB complaint against the company which they said they would send me 300.00 for my trouble, in which they never did, again it smoked my house twice, and I had to pay for an install and uninstall, and another install! Also my local Tractor supply stated they had several of the same units exchanged for the same reasons! Representative did not respond to my question after that and have not responded to my calls or text.
