The product, in the report: Harman Pellet Stove XXV-TC / 2018 S/N HF 1672177. Built by Hearth and Home Technologies (352 Mt House Road, Halifax, PA 17032) Black in color, 3 ft tall / 3 ft wide.
I have a Harman Pellet Stove XXV-TC / year 2018 (S/N HF 1672177) by Hearth and Home Technologies. Installed June 2019. The stove started to not follow the set room temperature by 10-15 deg or more on the hot side. Called the Harman technician and was told to load/reload new firmware (firmware update is 21.04.20) . I did so 5 or 6 times, and each time something changed the stove settings (for good or bad) . The last firmware download seemed to fix the “following the room temp” issues, but now the stove has safety issues. 1. When the hopper lip is opened the fans (combustion and room) should stop as they did before. They do not after firmware update. 2. When the load door is opened the fans (combustion and room) should stop as they did before, it does stop feeding pellets. If the load door glass would break the combustion fan would not stop running (possible fire hazard). 3. The Touch Screen on/off “button” does not stop the stove. The stove keeps feeding pellets in the off position. To stop the stove I must open the load door and scrap the hot/burning pellets into the stove’s ash pan. Leave the load door cracked open (so it will not feed pellets and start the fire up again) and let it cool for around 45 mins so it will shut down. If I would unplug the stove it my damage it or smoke up the house. 4. You cannot tell if the firmware has been successful in its download (all downloads ended like they were successful). You must run the stove to see what is fixed or not fixed. 5. Was told by the Harman tech it maybe the Touch Screen if the firmware does not work, but the firmware seems to be the problem. Should the Touch Screens not be recalled if it is not the firmware? Or a new/better firmware to update with? Read on web sites and [REDACTED] pages about the same thing happening to my Harman stove is happening the other stoves.
