The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach sandwich maker. Type ST35, Model 25430, Series A1622DX

While using a Hamilton Beach 25430 sandwich maker, the top half of the sandwich just fell apart while it was being closed. This caused the hot metal plates to fall loose. The 120v wiring and heater element was fully exposed. The unit was being used by an adult. However kids do use the appliance on occasion. No injuries occured when the appliance fell apart. An electrical and burn hazard was present.

The product, in the report: Double side, folding grill with removable cooking plates.

I have a Hamilton Beach 4 in 1 MutiGrill Plus with a dangerous electric defect. I was grilling some pork chops and using metal tongs to turn them when I touched my stove with my other hand. I got shocked! I got a multimeter and tested between a pork chop and the ground pin of the outlet the grill was plugged into. 114 volts! With a 2 prong plug an appliance is supposed to be double insulated. This grill has the metal parts which support the grill plates connected to one of the power wires. I tested my stove and it is wired correctly.

  3. First aid

Made Jun 16, 2020, sent to the company Jul 1, 2020, published by CPSC Jul 16, 2020

The product, in the report: Indoor grill/panini press

I received the Hamilton Beach indoor panini press/grill, model #25334-MX as a gift on 6/14/2020. On 6/15/2020 I decided to use it for the first time. I read through the instructions, preheated the grill and then placed one chicken thigh on the grill. While I was waiting for it to cook I started looking over the instruction booklet again to see the features. On the side of the grill there is a lock/unlock switch. I go over to touch it, but my finger slips and touches the outside handle of the grill. I am burned instantly. I scream and I immediately run over to the sink to run cold water on it and then get some ice. I have never got a burn so badly from touching the outside of an appliance. Nothing on the outside of the grill should be that hot that it burns instantly. This morning 6/16/2020 I wake up and there is a huge bulbous blister covering the entire tip of my finger. I have never been burnt so badly. I could see getting a burn from the actual grill part, but not the outside. This product is unsafe!

Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich maker Purchased at Wal-Mart on January 22, 2016 Model: 25475W Series: A4151DX

On September 18, 2016, the wire-coil-protected cord on the Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich maker sparks and emits a burnt odor. This is our second unit. The first one started on fire about a month after the warranty period (purchased the first one in 2015; it died January 2016). This second appliance I purchased at Wal-Mart on January 22,2016. I have the receipt.

Yes, I bought the breakfast sandwich maker again, even though the first had flamed out on my kitchen countertop. I thought, “What are the chances the breakfast sandwich maker would self-immolate a second time?”

    Turns out: pretty good.

I contacted Hamilton Beach about the issue and they sent me a mailing label to send back Sparky. And they’ve sent me a new appliance. Right. I have a third breakfast sandwich maker. I know, I know. But what are the chances?

The product, in the report: Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker (single sandwich)

We purchased a Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker (single sandwich). It worked very well and there were no problems. It was used as per instructions and maintained accordingly. After approximately 25-30 uses I picked it up to clean the counter and noticed that a plastic cover located on the bottom of the appliance had fallen off. The plastic had disintegrated and exposed the electrical wires used to heat the appliance.

I contacted the company and all they were interested in was proving me with a coupon that would have allowed me to purchase another one for ten dollars or a half off. When I explained that this could have started a fire or electrocuted someone, they returned to trying to issue the coupon. I asked that the complaint be forwarded up the chain of command and I have not heard from anyone.

The product, in the report: Electric contact grill The model # for the product subject to this report is 25332.

Burned six fingers on protrusions from a Hamilton Beach griller. These tabs look like “handles” but in fact are superheated extensions of the grill plate. If you look very closely <after tending to your wounds<

you’ll possible see the words “HOT” stamped in the black metal...no highlighting whatsoever. In fact, the foreign language word “Chaud” is printed in a more visible spot than “HOT” on the same protrusions..

It’s almost laughable, if it weren’t so painful. Almost like a practical joke on the user.

An amazing blunder and disregard for the safety of the consumer.

    Please look into this.
