The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: EAST OAK 30” Electric Smoker for Outdoors Up to 6 Longer Smokes on a Single Load Side Chip Loader for Uninterrupted Smoking Bigger Batches with 725 sq in Cooking Area

I was smoking a small roast in a [REDACTED] pan in my East Oak 30” Electric Smoker. When I pulled the rack out a little bit to test the meat, the whole rack slid out (no safety mechanism and no safety design), splashing the hot liquid on me and causing multiple burns on my leg. My toddler grandson was also burnt. Both of us would have been burned worse if I hadn’t been wearing long pants and if he hadn’t been wearing boots. This is extremely dangerous. I went back and tried many different ways of using the racks, and no matter how I used them, they slide out too easily.
