  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 14, 2020, sent to the company Apr 22, 2020, published by CPSC May 6, 2020

The product, in the report: Country Smokers CSPEL015010497 Wood Pellet Grill and Smoker, Black by Country Smokers Model CSPEL015010497

Purchased from Amazon.com an outdoor tabletop pellet smoker manufactured by CountrySmokers.com on 04/08/2020. I noticed during my first usage that the convection fan continued to run after turning the unit off. This repeated once more on the second usage on 04/12/2020. On both of these occasions I pulled the electrical cord out of the outlet to shut off the fan.

After the third usage last evening 04/13/2020, I turned the unit off after heating sausages with the temperature setting on 450 degrees Fahrenheit. I did not remember to pull the power cord out of the outlet and went inside to have dinner.

About thirty minutes later, I passed by my patio and noticed intense smoke coming from the unit. Upon opening the grill and the internal pellet hopper I noted that the pellets had continued to burn (likely due to the fan continuing to run after turning the unit off). The pellets in the auger were already consumed and the fire had reached the stored pellets in the hopper.

I unplugged the unit and used water to extinguish the burning. I reported this to Amazon and noted that there are several other customer reviews where this same issue has been reported.
