The product, in the report: Removable Plate Grill / Panini Maker
I was using my new Calphalon HE600CG panini maker with removable grill plates when the top grill plate came separated for no apparent reason and burned me. I was putting my panini down when all of the sudden the top grill plates came separated. The burns were very light (1st degree).
I did more testing and have found that while the grill plates hold okay at cold or extremely low temperatures, they don’t hold very well at all at higher temperatures, and I was able to reproduce the issue at temperatures around 250 degrees -- the grill goes to 400 degrees.
