Emergency room Made Dec 26, 2023, sent to the company Jan 18, 2024, published by CPSC Feb 1, 2024
The product, in the report: 160-foot zip line kit
The consumer indicates that the zip line was installed 12/21/2023. Her daughter got on it and one of the brackets on the pre-fabricated cable that attaches the zip line to the tree broke, which caused the entire zip line to break and fall. The consumer’s daughter fell and hit her head.
The consumer’s daughter was taken to the emergency room where a CT scan was taken; she was diagnosed with an injury to the head, concussion without loss of consciousness, and a hematoma of the occipital region of the scalp.
The consumer states that the unit was used approximately five times prior to the incident, and has a weight limit of 350-lb. whereas her daughter weights 73.10-lb.
The consumer plans on keeping the zip line kit for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.
(01/17/2024): Since this happened, there were 2 additional reviews posted on Amazon with the same broken part, causing the ziplines to fall.
