The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: It is called the unity teeter tunnel with lexan top. It is a large stand up teeter totter that is 899 lbs. The product at the school was orange. It has handles on each side. It is 2’2” 12’10” x 4’ 1”

My 9 year old daughter was playing on the unity teeter tunnel with Lexan Top with her friends on the playground at school. 3 kids were on one side and my daughter was one of 3 on the other side. My daughter was pulling her side down when the kids on the other side jumped off. Due to the momentum she fell and her back landed on the stopper coming out of the ground. The weight of the teeter totter, along with the weight of her 2 very small friends hit her stomach, causing a grade 3 liver laceration and internal bleeding. She was airflown to a pediatric trauma unit for close monitoring. If there had been more kids on her side or the girls had been heavier, my daughter could have easily bled out internally. The teeter totter itself is 899 lbs and has a capacity for 10 kids at a time I believe.
