The product, in the report: Description on Amazon: Tiny Land 5 in 1 Pikler Triangle Set, Baby Climbing Toys Indoor Playground, Foldable Toddler Climbing Toys, Wooden Montessori Climbing Set for 2-6 Years, Jungle Gym for Kids, natural wood
TINY LAND PIKLER SET - My son was playing on the triangle right in front of me - he was standing on the bottom bars of the triangle about to climb up and then all of the sudden we heard a terrible choking sound. I immediately looked down and saw that he had somehow managed to squeeze his head between the first top bar and the bar below it. He was stuck and unable to figure out how to get his head out. Because of the position of the bars, his head was tightly wedged between the two bars - the bar was pressing against his neck and choking him. I quickly tried to pull his head out but wasn’t able to maneuver his head the way I needed to while he was standing on the bars. Meanwhile his face was turning red from not being able to breathe. I picked him up to try to take the weight off of his neck while my mom pushed his head forward, turned it sideways, and then pulled it out. Afterwards, he was crying and scared, catching his breathe, and had red marks on his neck and collarbone. Otherwise he was ok, thankfully,
All I can think about now is what would have happened if I hadn’t been standing right in front of him when he did this. What if this took place while I had stepped out of the room to switch loads of laundry or prepare a meal? I imagine what it could have been like him finding him like that a minute too late, and feel an urgent need to inform others.
It could have ended terribly wrong had I not been right there. We were just spared a potential tragedy, and I don’t want this to happen to any other child (especially if they don’t have a parent close by like I was to help them out of the situation.) After this weekend, I believe there needs to be a warning that this is a risk because having him get his head stuck and choking was not something I ever imagined having to worry about with this toy. I am reporting this incident so that something horrific doesn’t happen to another unsuspecting family.
