The product, in the report: Charcoal and wood grill for commercial usage
We purchased a grill from:
NorCal Ovenworks located at 12236 Watersong Ln, Wilton, CA 95693 Website: http://www.norcalovenworks.com/
After a few months of actual use the welds on the unit failed causing hot charcoal to spit from the sides of the grill. The hot coals caught our baseboards on fire forcing our employees to utilize fire extinguishers to put out the flames. After contacting the manufacturer multiple times about the defect we received no reply until we had to get a third party involved. The manufacturer then responded with hostility, acknowledging the defect on the unit but refusing to pay for the much needed safe fix (re-welding the joints and laying fire bricks). After a few email exchanges about the cost of repairs the manufacturer broke off contact blaming us for ‘misuse’ of the grill and calling us ‘hard-[REDACTED]’.
After doing research on this company we found that many purchasers have had the very same safety issues and they were also met with hostility from the manufacturer. We have already paid for all repairs and are not seeking compensation, we seek to ensure that their ‘NSF’ approved status be revoked due to the dangerous nature of their malfunctioning products.
