The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Emergency room

Made Jul 1, 2011, published by CPSC Jul 25, 2011

The product, in the report: Brinkmann Dual 42,000 BTU 3-Burner Gas/Charcoal Grill with Side Burner, Black

My forhead was cut on the top left door to the charcoal access area between assembly steps. Since I was following instructions the door handle / latch was not yet assembled which is one of the last steps. This left the top left door hanging down horizontal in frontfront of the grill. When I repositioned in front of the grill my head came on contact with the door causing a 4.5cm laceration to the forhead. This required immediate medical attention including 8 stitches. The door appeared to be stamped stainless steel and was extremely sharp around all edges. It did not appear that the door had any post processing to eliminate the sharp edges from manufacturing. This will be a safety concern during all normal usage when the door is down. I currently have the door covered and will not be able to use that portion on the grill.
