  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Oct 15, 2022, sent to the company Oct 18, 2022, published by CPSC Nov 1, 2022

The product, in the report: It is the RadWagon 4 (2020 Model), it is a Black cargo e-bike

I purchased a RadWagon 4 from Rad Power Bikes in April of 2022. I noticed no problems with the bike until September. On September 8th Rad Power Bikes sent email for all RadWagon 4 owners to stop riding their bike as the tires have been cracking and/or bursting. I went and checked my tires and sure enough, I had HUGE cracks in both my tires. Since then, there has only been ONE update email after 5 weeks, saying we will get another update in 30 days, and that it is still estimated another 2-3 months. As for my bike, I have tried multiple times to ask for a refund and to send the bike back as I no longer feel safe on it and I can’t wait that long for new tires as the bike was my only means of transportation. They have since stopped responding to any of my emails and now I’m left with a dangerous $2000 paperweight and having to take [REDACTED] to work.

The product, in the report: RadWagon 4 ebike. The tire issue is across the RadWagon 4 series.

Rad Power Bikes has announced a defect in tires for the RadWagon 4. I had an unexplained blowout earlier this year and they sent me a replacement tire that is also defective.
