The product, in the report: Magnum brand electric bike, model Metro, s/n either MT21HJF2760 or MT21HJF4634.
This concerns a Magnum brand electric bike, model Metro, s/n either MT21HJF2760 or MT21HJF4634. I was standing alongside this rental e-bike. Without warning, the system applied torque to the back wheel causing the bike to rear up since I was holding onto the handle-bars. When the bike reared up, the front wheel grazed another in our group. I applied the brakes and the torque stopped and the bike then returned to the earth. Less than a minute later, the event repeated. I took the bike back to the rental location, Magnum Bicycles, Park City, Utah, [REDACTED]. We rented (4) bicycles under receipt [REDACTED]. We were able to duplicate the incident with the proprietor, and I was given another bicycle, which performed fine for the remainder of our 3-hour rental period. I have reported this to the vendor, info@magnumbikes.com and received an acknowledgement on October 21 by [REDACTED], Magnum Bikes, Customer Support & In-house Sales, [REDACTED].
