Emergency room Made Aug 8, 2023, sent to the company Aug 10, 2023, published by CPSC Aug 24, 2023
The product, in the report: While coming to a stop a Blix sol eclipse electric bike, step thru, with 9mm quick release skewer, had the front tire pulled from the front forks while braking. This caused a serious accident, leading to physical injury that could have been much worse if going faster.
Spouse riding Blix Sol Eclipse electric bike, had under 200 miles on bike. While coming to a stop her front tire was pulled from the forks, causing her to have an accident. Ambulance, fire department arrived and took her to ER for CT scan. No broken bones, but major bruising, cracked ribs. Over $8k in medical bills so far, Bike is destroyed and she was only going about 1 mph. Turns out this is more common that i thought after searching the bike blogs, i was surprised there was nothing on the Consumer Protection site.
