The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Sevylor River Racer inflatable inner tube. Black in color

I used the Sevylor River Racer inflatable rubber inner tube to float around in a lake for approximately 1 hour. I began to have a burning sensation on my back and the area that had made contact with the tube began to turn bright red. I washed the affected area with soap and water several times. The redness has decreased but I still have some redness and still feel the burning sensation 24 hours later. I am also feeling light headed and nauseous.

I did not know the tube had been recalled at the time of use. Due to the burning, I searched the internet for potential causes of the burning after using the inner tube and found it had been recalled. I then deflated the inner tube so no one else would use it.

The product, in the report: Sevylor River Racer inflatable tube; model #2000014090

On or about May 18 2014 we purchased two (2) Sevylor River Racer inflatable tubes. Model #2000014090. We used these tubes once, on Memorial Day, May 26 2014. We used them on an average length river float, under normal conditions. The weather was warm but not extreme. Both my husband and myself experienced a very bad skin reaction in the areas which contacted the tubes. I missed a day of work due to being very uncomfortable. The areas affected took several weeks to heal, and appeared to be almost chemically burned.
