The product, in the report: Heater 20 gas furnace Model-ProCom - 20,000 BTU, Model# MD200TBF
I got a replacement heater 20 gas furnace and will attach pictures, but it blew out the safety glass, they send me a new one tested in two days later using it only during day, it just busted. I do not know if it is because the top bracket on this one seems to put glass closer to the fire or there is some bind on glass due to the frame, but since it did it when I got it, then even quicker after installing the new one just not sure. I am a disabled guess senior, Creaks Patient, etc. for years and never in all these years ever had a heater due this. It to me seems to be unsafe. The seller says go ahead and check it find out what is up, but I realize after reading reason for glass busting it has to be something wrong with the heater or alleged tempered glass.
The seller is http://www.factorybuysdirect.com/ Headquarters FactoryBuysDirect.com 500 Brown Industrial Parkway Canton, Georgia 30114
All I wanted was a replacement gas heater, and i am concerned for our safety on this heater. Again, they send me a replacement glass that just fell apart in laundry room where I moved it to test it. In two days the following pictures are what the heater did does that seem right to you? I am not sure what to do buy prey for help from your office or a referral to who I should contact if this happens much I would worry in general about public safety.
The submitter added as of 5/12/2015, he still has been unable to heat his home due to heater issue...He tried one time replacement of glass supposed to be tempered but few times tested it too just had collapsed when he went to turn it off or actually notice when he stepped on piece of glass it had shattered...He has been afraid to use the heater and when asking seller if it is safe now, it is what he has, they never responded.
The submitter noted this means when it snowed and he had a $20,000 surgery he had to sit covered up as only one of the two heaters was safe to use...He was force to try and use the busted one but due to his concern of a fire could or would not use it unless watched...He guesses in this case it is lucky he did not fall asleep on pain pills and wake in a house on fire.
The submitter also noted he has no idea why one furnace worked and yet this one never has worked correctly as he said he is not an engineer...He even wrote the original maker of the heater and they never did respond...It is at the point that he feels the need for a written letter as a reference...He got some weird thing the other day saying shipment from seller but when he looked up his account on their site he saw nothing nor has there been anything other than the one failed attempt.
The submitter indicated he was unsure if this is actually tempered glass as the way it just fell to pieces leaves him with no idea...He believes the top bracket is a little more straight on ends which might put the glass closer to fire, but is that the issue, he cannot swear to accept it is and has always been unsafe.
The submitter explained there was snow on the ground and he is in his house with two heaters and only one that works correctly, older homes require descent heat source in winter or just do not get warm...He is a disabled senior and after surgery had a lot of problems one of them just keeping himself warm and avoid getting sick after surgery which really puts him at more risk just was such a strain on his body.
The submitter noted he is not sure if it is a risk which is why he wrote the makers or actually re-manufacturers and sellers, if it was a risk and unsure of issue why not just change it out...He will try and call them today but as usual he gets a message they’ll be an email, but he has seen nothing...If one replacement glass busted few test times after install and never made a sound just went back to turn it off and as noted earlier glass on floor step on it another darn mess and again a unsafe heater forced to use as it was that or freeze and as noted after surgery had enough issues as a senior surgery can leave one very weak.
The submitter added it still hurts to write and type but he is trying to do his best as his mom and family have used new Pro Com heaters and he has used them or Mr. Heater and this issue has never occurred before...Why it’s been his bad luck and issue happening in the middle of snowy weather and surgery just sort of upsetting to say the lease.
The submitter also stated one person he had talked to seem sort of irritated and said “well we sent you a glass,” and if that would of fixed the issue, he would have had no other issues with this and frankly stress over the whole issue getting to affect his blood pressure...He is supposed to avoid stress..What he does not understand is why if just a glass replacement is the issue why it would fall apart as it was in an area away from where we are most of the time and where older unit had been for years with no issues...Will a replacement glass fix this and what was wrong with the original glass and or replacement glass? Would the angle of glass or glass for some reason being too close to fire been an issue as their rebuilt and could it be something one would not see with the naked eye?
The submitter noted he had no idea and apparently no one else has responded with an answer and as he said he did write the original maker of unit you guys rebuilt and they totally ignored all communication. The submitter indicated he inquired, “How do I get the heater you guys sent me to work and work safely..” Again he has no idea.
