The product, in the report: Amana Natural Gas Furnace 97%

I purchased a brand new natural gas Amana furnace and started smelling a gas leak soon after the heat was turned on in October 2021. The gas leak was due to two separate manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship. First the heater box condensation collector gasket failed and leaked condensate and gases out of the furnace and into my home. Second the natural gas valve failed and passed gas through the valve when the furnace was not running into my house creating a safety danger for me and my family. The gas leak was confirmed by Eversource gas company and the furnace repairman.

The consumer stated that he has had numerous service technicians come to his home and inspect and attempt to repair his furnace.

Each time the technician has repaired the coils of the furnace. The consumer more recently had a technician that he had previous experience with come to his home. The consumer discovered that there was a hole in the interior of his furnace. The consumer stated that the furnace was emitting a strange smell and could not identify exactly what it was.

The consumer finally discovered that this whole in his furnace interior was serving as a catalyst for foreign substances to enter the ducts of his furnace. The consumer began experiencing the strange smell since February of 2011. The consumer found this hole in his furnace is extracting dirt and water from his A/c unit.

This has resulted in mold resonating in the furnace and being released out of the ducts. The consumer has called the firm a number of times and on each occasion, they have a service change the coils of the furnace. The consumer has not called his home insurance company or the retailer.
