The product, in the report: IBC HC 33-160 Condensing Boiler
Last year, our IBC HC 33-160 water boiler had a fully corroded manifold. We had that fixed. A few weeks ago, our boiler displayed a POLE error but then appeared to keep working. The next day it displayed a fault error. It turns out that water was collecting in the unit. This was what corroded the manifold. It also damaged the control board. Inside the unit, though, it turns out that the internal exhaust pipe was cracked top to bottom, potentially leaking into our basement and house.
The part was just over the five-year warranty period. I had to replace the entire unit, as it was unclear which parts were damaged: with labor it was cheaper to replace this with a more reliable brand.
I contacted IBC on August 22. The sales team initially responded and then provided no further updates.
