The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Oct 9, 2016, sent to the company Oct 26, 2016, published by CPSC Nov 9, 2016

The product, in the report: This is a condensing gas boiler from Burnham (U.S. Boiler). The model is CHG150NH. It is a large blue box.

Purchased a home on Sep 7, 2016. Home has a Burnham CHG150 condensing gas boiler, installed in 2008.

    Model #: CHG150NH Serial #: BURNHM00401425

Noticed flue gas smell around the boiler. A CO detector held near to where flue gas smell was noticed shows unsafe levels of CO.

Subsequently, a hole was found in the exhaust pipe that is part of the boiler assembly. This seems like a defect in the manufacture of the boiler itself.

  2. No one hurt

Made Dec 29, 2011, sent to the company Jan 9, 2012, published by CPSC Jan 31, 2012

The product, in the report: residential gas boiler

We received a letter, dated 12/2, postmarked 12/19. received 12/22/11, from US Boiler notifying us of a “safety issue” with our recently purchased Burnham boiler. We were urged to contct our contractor and have the modification performed ASAP. We were not told what the safety issue is and when we called Burnham we were not given the information because it was “against company policy”. The contractor (from the Burnham list) was not aware of the safety issue or modification. They called Burnham and they told the contractor to replace the door with one with more ventillation. Does this imply that the unit could overheat, causing a fire hazard? Burnham won’t give comsumers any information.
