The product, in the report: Professional HEPA Air Cleaner

I purchased a Homedics Professional HEPA Air Cleaner, model number AR-10 on April 26, 2011 from Camping World in Albuquerque, NM. April 28, I plugged it in inside my motorhome and turned it on. It ran all night and functioned properly. The morning of April 29, I turned off the power button, but did not unplug the unit, and went outside. I returned within 15 minutes, possibly 10, and the unit was smoldering and producing noxious smoke, filling the room. I unplugged it and took it outside. I feel certain within minutes it would have been actively on fire. I notified both Camping World and Homedics of the problem, that day. Although Homedics offered a replacement, I requested a refund, which they agreed to grant. They arranged for pick up and paid for the return shipping. Homedics has responded appropriately, even agreeing to pay for professional cleanup of any residual smoke damage to the interior of my motorhome, which thankfully was not needed. This is in no way a complaint of the company, but merely a report of my incident in case others have similar problems.
