The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Aug 12, 2015, sent to the company Aug 20, 2015, published by CPSC Sep 4, 2015

The product, in the report: a mini-dehumidifier for single room/space use

I ordered this unit the end of March 2013 and used it during the spring and summer only to avoid any chance of freezing. I realize it is out of warranty, but I think you ought to know of a safety issue. The unit was never misused or placed in any unusual situations. The plug that attaches to the unit semi-melted down and the unit quit working. There were burn marks around the plug at the unit. I had noticed the adapter always seemed hot to touch. There was no other damage unless it is inside of the unit. I recommend you review this product as I see others have found the same damage to their units (see saferproducts.gov report # 20130209-ACB4E-2147458946). I am surprised there is not a recall as it could easily have created a fire.
