The product, in the report: Hampton Bay Dehumidifiers HB50 have already been recalled.
We had not heard of the recall on Hampton Bay dehumidifiers with model # HB50. On 4/10/2014 the unit burned out, filling the basement with thick smoke. We were extremely fortunate that the basement did not catch fire. We think the system of notifying consumers is inadequate. There should be a national system, using the internet, of providing information on all dangerous products that should be recalled.
