Dehumidifier purchased on Amazon in November 2020 (Product = 4,500 Sq Ft Energy Star Dehumidifier with Pump; Manufacturer = Ivation; ASIN# = B078HVJG8Y; Item model number = IVADH50PWP2). In July 2021 the fan within unit exploded projecting black plastic debris out of unit and across the room. The unit had a strong charred electric smell.

I have had the same problem with two Ivation Medium Dehumidifiers, Item HIPDM35. They both melted the electric plug to the back of the dehumidifier. They scorched the plastic body of the unit near the connection.
