The product, in the report: Delonghi dehumidifier, DD50PE. 50 pint capacity with pump.
Had a Delonghi dehumidifier in continuous mode sine beginning of summer. On August 25, 2021 I noticed an oder that smelled like overheating electronics. I traced the oder to the dehumidifier and found the back panel was very hot to the touch. I tested it with an infrared thermometer at 148F. I unplugged it fearing it might catch fire. The unit is a Delonghi DD50PE purchased 5/31/2015.

The product, in the report: DeLonghi Dehumidifier, model #DD50PSCE
I have DeLonghi dehumidfier, model #DD50PSCE. I tried using it and it started to smell like burnt plastic and the back and insides of the unit were extremely hot. I called Gree, they say the model I have is not part of the recall, but reading the incidents of fires started by overheating units, I seem to have the EXACT same issue and I’m afraid to use for fear of fire.

The product, in the report: DeLonghi DEN500P 50 pint dehumidifier SKU 0148750200 5.4A * No manufacture date on the label that has model and serial number*
DeLonghi dehumidified DEN500P has started tripping my circuit breaker and has a faint odor when it does. I have moved to different circuit that is higher in amperage and it continues to be tripped by this dehumidifier. I am able to operate other items of higher rated amperage than this dehumidifier without issue.

No one hurt Made Jun 22, 2011, published by CPSC Jul 15, 2011
The product, in the report: DeLonghi DE400P 40-PINT DEHUMIDIFIER
We have a DeLonghi DE400P 40-pint dehumidifier which is used intermittently for the last three summers. This year we noticed a tremendous amount of water leaking out from the internal workings of the machine causing a circuit breaker in the house to trip. The unit was immediately unplugged and taken out of service. The mixture of water and the ac electricity could have presented a shock hazard or resulted in a structure fire. The dehumidifier was dissembled and found that the internal water reservoir had numerous cracks resulting in the leak. It appears that a design flaw in the unit allows the water reservoir to rub against the float valve assembly as the motor/fan cycles. Photographs of the device can be provided.
