The product, in the report: Comfort Aire dehumidifier

We have a Comfort Aire dehumidifier model number BHD-501-A that we were using in a building that was being remodeled. There had been a major water leak, and the dehumidifier was needed at that time. The dehumidifier became so hot that we unplugged it and took it outside to prevent it from catching anything else on fire. It did not catch completely on fire or catch anything else on fire. We were just lucky enough to have checked it before leaving the building. We have not used it since that day, but this model is not included in the current recall. We have not used it because of the risk of fire and its overheating. We are not so much worried about our money that we spent, but the additional risk to other unsuspecting purchasers of this specific model.
