  1. No one hurt

Made Oct 29, 2022, sent to the company Nov 9, 2022, published by CPSC Nov 25, 2022

The product, in the report: Comfee Dehumidifier

Dehumidifier stopped working and was hot to the touch. Unplugged unit to cool down, then plugged unit in again and seemed to run as normal. However, the fan shut off, but the compressor kept running. Tried shutting unit off with power switch and would not turn off.

I unplugged the unit. I suspect the main control board is bad.

The product, in the report: Comfee M50DK, 50 pint dehumidifier SN: 240271328016B270200455

I went downstairs this morning and my dehumidifier sounded very loud. It was hot to the touch. I pressed the power button, the light turned off but it remained running. I unplugged it and it turned off. Had I left it running, I think it would have started a fire.

It was on a level surface, good air flow, filter clean, great working order.

One hour later I moved it upstairs and tried it on a different outlet. Same thing. It turns on and runs but is loud. When I press the power button to turn it off, the display turns off and it stops moving air but I hear that it is still running. I have to unplug it to get it to power down.
