The product, in the report: Walgreens Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier Item Code: 268442 UPC: 31191715750

We were using the Walgreens ultrasonic cool mist humidifier half filled with reverse osmosis water. It was on a low setting. I woke up to a strange smell and squealing. I thought it was running low and trusted the auto shut off feature to work. I was pinned down under a sleeping baby and could not check. In the morning, the light was off so I thought it turned itself off, despite a lingering hot plastic odor. I checked to refill it later and it was stuck to the box below. The motor had melted through the bottom, through the plastic lid of the box under it, and through plastic bags, burning the wool roving stored within. (Wool is very hard to burn). If the box had held flammable materials or the unit had been on the floor, I’m sure it would have caught fire and myself and two small children were in a bed right beside it.
