The product, in the report: Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier

We have had a couple of issues with our Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier. At first, the handle to the water tank broke and almost landed on my wife’s foot. Needless to say it busted and spilled water everywhere. Secondly, which is the latest incident, the unit leaked water into the electrical switch, and even when the unit was off, it was running(fire hazard). It also continued to leak and ruined my daughters night stand and also leaked water onto the carpet. I have dealt with KAZ the manufacturer on the handle issue, but this is unacceptable that water can leak into the electrical circuit. This is highly dangerous, due to the fact that water and electricity do not mix. Also, houses do not have GFCI outlets in the bedrooms. What is someone would have gotten electrocuted or a fire would have started from the heating element heating up the plastic after all of the water had leaked out! It really scares me to think what could have happened. Very concerned consumer. Now I am nervous, as I have a newer model in our bedroom.
