The product, in the report: Diffuser
Caller stated that the diffuser started emanating smoke and not mist because the color was white not clear as the mist. The product was immediately unplugged to prevent a fire. The manufacturer was contacted but they did not seem to care about the safety of the product. They advised that as the product gets older these incidents can occur. Caller feels that this diffuser poses a fire hazard and should be reported.
Possibly caused lung issues, specifically ongoing cryptogenic organising pneumonia of unknown origin.
