The product, in the report: Boneco ultrasonic u200 humidifier
I have been using 2 of the Boneco Ultrasonic U200 humidifiers in my children’s room. About 6 months after purchase I noticed a loud screeching coming from the transformer that plugs into the wall. I received a reply from the company stating it was normal.
As the dry season is coming I started using them again. After the second night my daughter woke up to a burning smell. Upon examination it was identified to be the U200 Boneco humidifier. It was smoking and the bottom was beginning to melt. I immediately unplugged it took it outside. The smell of burning plastic stunk up my house.
I feel there is an issue with these and they need to be addressed as they are in kids rooms across the country.

The product, in the report: BONECO Warm or Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier U700
When I cleaned it carefully following the instructions in the owners manual my house got filled with toxic fumes that burned my eyes, throat and lungs. What happened was that I set the cleaning cycle for 4 hours and everything went fine, however after the cycle ended (4 hours latter) the unit automatically switched out of cleaning mode and back to humidify mode and sent toxic descaler throughout the house.
