The product, in the report: Product is a non-electric, clay stone orb and tray for humidifying. Decorative Stone Humidifier. It is called Aqua Stone, As Seen on TV and sold in stores.
I purchased an Aqua Stone for home use. My understanding is the product is sold in Target, Costco and As Seen on TV. It is a clay stone non electric humidifier. I used this product for approximately 2 weeks, within one week of as instructed use it was covered in mold spores. I washed the stone and by the next day it had new mold growth. After some online research and finding numerous consumer complaints I contacted the Aqua Stone line. They tried to sell me another Aqua Stone to replace it! After pushing the issue and asking about the safety of using a product with mold on it or WHY it had mold on it or how it could be prevented, I was instructed by both the customer service rep and a supervisor that it was perfectly safe to keep using it with mold present and it was common. I asked if they had a quality control department and was put on hold and told that it was again perfectly safe to use it with mold present. I have coincidentally had respiratory irritation for the last two weeks. The product has been in my bedroom.
