The product, in the report: Superba 30” wall oven (single oven) Stainless steel finish Model kebc107kss0
We had just finished roasting vegetables and turned the oven off leaving them in to stay warm while we finished getting ready to eat. About five minutes later my wife went back into the kitchen and smelled something burning. Smoke was starting to come from the oven and it was getting very hot. The display only said “oven locked”. Nothing else was displayed. She pressed cancel (off) and the oven beeped but nothing else changed. We attempted to open the door to remove the burning vegetables but the door was locked. We attempted to unlock the door following the owners manual but it would not open. the display briefly showed “too hot”. By then the oven was very hot with a lot of smoke so I turned off the circuit breaker. No one was injured but if we had not been in the house I wonder how hot the oven would have gotten and if it would have started the cabinets on fire. The oven was hotter then when it is self cleaning. This is a KitchenAid 30” single wall oven model kebc107kss0.
