The product, in the report: Breville Smart Oven, I think model No. BOV800XL.
About a month ago, the spring on the door our Breville Smart Oven, stopped working, which means that the door falls all the way open, the minute you pull on the handle. Recently, the magnets that keep the door closed have started losing their strength. Today, I accidentally brushed the oven handle, which was enough to loosen it and it fell crashing down on my arm, causing a bruise. Luckily, the oven was not on at the time because the door can be quite hot.
I have previously reported this issue to both the CPSC and Breville in December 2015. Breville stated that it was not a manufacturing error even though there is at one prior report regarding this issue on the CPSC website and in asking on my mommy forum, at least three other consumers reported the same problem. Breville states that this is the result of normal wear and tear which means that ALL its models will eventually have an unsafe door that falls open with a slight touch, causing injury to consumers.
