The product, in the report: Samsung slide-in convection oven/range model # NE63B8611SS
I am reporting a serious overheating incident involving a Samsung range, model NE63B8611SS. While using the oven normally to cook a frozen pizza, the oven experienced an uncontrolled overheating event. Within approximately two minutes, the pizza went from frozen to severely burned and the heat was sufficient to ruin my pizza stone. During the incident, the range displayed a C-21 error code. The oven could not be shut down normally using its controls and appeared to continue heating. I ultimately had to turn off the range at the electrical breaker to stop the event. This incident is particularly concerning because the oven has had ongoing temperature-regulation problems. Prior to this incident, I frequently had to manually adjust the oven temperature approximately 2030 degrees higher or lower because it did not reliably maintain the selected temperature. I reported the incident to Samsung. Samsung sent a technician to inspect the range. The dangerous overheating behavior did not recur during the technician’s visit. Samsung subsequently concluded that the incident was caused by grease or food residue in the oven and closed the case. I dispute that conclusion. There was some ash/residue on the bottom of the oven from a previous cleaning, but that does not explain the abnormal behavior of the appliance: the extremely rapid overheating, the C-21 error code, the oven’s longstanding inability to maintain temperature or, most importantly, the fact that I could not stop the oven using its controls and had to disconnect power at the circuit breaker. I repeatedly asked Samsung to explain how food residue could account for these symptoms and asked whether Samsung considered the oven safe to use. Samsung has not answered those questions and has stopped responding to my correspondence. I am concerned that the appliance may have an unresolved failure involving its temperature-sensing, temperature-control or electronic control system that could cause another uncontrolled heating event and potentially result in a fire, personal injury or property damage. I am also aware of the federal case [REDACTED] in which plaintiffs have alleged temperature-regulation problems involving certain Samsung ranges equipped with temperature sensor DG32-00002B, including alleged failures in which the control system does not shut off the oven’s heat supply. I do not know whether my range contains that specific component, but the reported failure mode is concerningly similar to what I experienced. I am submitting this report because Samsung has closed its investigation without providing an explanation for the abnormal overheating and failure to shut off, and I do not believe the underlying safety issue has been resolved.

The product, in the report: I was preheating the oven to cook and is the oven got warmer. The chemical smell of burnt paint enamel bombarded the whole house at first I didnt know where it was coming from. Then I realized it was the oven and the smoke was atrocious.
Bottom panel of my oven burning off the enamel paint I contacted Samsung. They told me they will get back to me within 24 hours. I told them the smell of the paint burning enamel. I cannot cook my family in just the smell. I told them this is a health hazard and they said thats all they can do for me.
(08/27/2026) The whole house smelt like plastic it was choking us. My dogs me, my husband, my mother she’s 92. I was preheating the oven. To cook a meal.
Samsung said they will send someone out August 31 which I find very odd because I called them on Sunday, but there was no way to reach them and having to wait this long with not being able to cook for my family and the smell is still in the house. I have photos of it burning. It was like 3 inches in the air of the of the enamel burning off the bottom of the oven.
I just thought oh maybe I spilled something so I sprayed it with oven cleaner of course after it cooled and it was not coming off it was shiny black blue plastic and I thought oh my gosh so I thought maybe it was Done Right so I turned the oven back on this was like a day later, and it was the same plastic smell so it might be burning deeper than just from what I saw And and that might be more of an issue. I certainly hope that they can help me.

I bought a Samsung Stove from Best Buy in September 13, 2021. Last Saturday 4/18/2026 at approximately 11:45 a.m.. My carbon monoxide detector went off, stating “carbon monoxide!” We evacuated my home and my dogs. The fire department came out and determined that the stove oven was leaking carbon monoxide, putting our lives in danger. The stove’s ID# is 0HFE7DDR600256Y. I contacted Best Buy’s corporate office and they demonstrated a very lax attitude. They simply stated that since it was no in extended warranty there was nothing they could do. This is not a “normal warranty issue,” this is A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT. I’m very disappointed. I’ve not been able to use my stove since Saturday. I don’t want to have it repaired, as I don’t want to put us in danger. I now need to buy another one.

I paid a technician to come and help me understand the problem with my oven. He said he didn’t know, made four visits, and never told me what happened. He advised me to contact you because he had never seen an oven burn because of spilled food. The oven exploded and burned my stomach. The food fell, but the oven was cleaned immediately, and I still don’t know why it exploded. Several visits and no answer about what happened, because the technician himself said he didn’t know, since everything seemed normal and that it was probably a problem with the appliance itself, and not due to misuse on my part. After all this, he tells me he can’t do anything. The oven could have exploded in my face or set the whole house on fire; this is really very serious. My house is clean, my oven is impeccably clean and it’s new. It’s about 2 years old. It’s not normal, I will never consider a burnt oven as something normal. The technician even filmed my house, my stomach which burned in the explosion, and even my face to show that the repair was justified.

While using my Samsung ovens broil function to toast bread a completely standard use the oven suddenly caught fire while under normal operation. The unit was less than 1 year old and under full warranty. The fire produced smoke throughout my home, triggered fire alarms, and required the use of a fire extinguisher and a response from the fire department. I have a 2-year-old and a 3-month-old child in the home.
The fire was NOT due to misuse or any flammable material it was a spontaneous internal fire. Samsung delayed service for weeks, and when a technician confirmed the oven was unrepairable, Samsung later denied the warranty by falsely blaming the fire on food. This product is a serious safety risk, especially for families with children. I am requesting CPSC investigate this product line for fire hazards and hold Samsung accountable for safety violations.

My home was recently impacted by a mass fire in my kitchen with extensive damages that created a lot of smoke and more causing me to have to leave my home. I received a call from my lawn service guy that he heard my alarm going off. I did not get the alert on my phone and upon returning my home was filled with smoke and was not sure where it came from. I entered the home and I looked around there was no visible fire but there was a large amount of smoke. I went upstairs as that was the last place I was at and nothing. I checked the house and I when I entered the kitchen the front burner to my range was on and there was no reason for it to be. I was in disbelief as I am unclear as to how it was no fire but so much smoke and damage to my home and kitchen. Emergency was called but placed on hold and was advised that the call did not process. I had a temp job and attended work. I went to the Fire department station and was advised that it was nothing that they could do and made it seem as if I did something wrong. I was so lost and left with no options and no clue what to do. We just had a storm and [REDACTED] said that they would send someone out and they did and they also denied and rejected me as if it was my fault. I am now reaching out to make awareness to having issues with no resolution

I walked into my kitchen and heard a crackling sound coming from my range. There were small pieces of something on the floor. When I turned on the oven light I saw that the whole glass in the oven door had shattered, and the sound was continuous cracking. I covered the oven door with a towel because I read that the glass could explode. Neither the range or oven was being used at the time this happened, and hadnt been used since the day before.

After cooking I left an aluminum baking sheet on top of the glass stove top, for food to cool off, then I went outside to do some yard work. It seems that the large burner turned and activated through accidental contact. While in the backyard I started smelling something burning, I ran inside the house and it was full of smoke with flames that almost reached the kitchen ceiling, I started screaming and the guy that was working on the front of my home came inside and helped me out. The aluminum was melted on top of the glass and it completely cracked the glass top. It was the most dangerous and scary situation that I have been in. It took me weeks to get the entire house cleaned up to remove black smoke from walls, ceiling and to remove the burning smell from furniture , clothing etc.

Samsung slide-in range burners turn-on when being bumped into. The result was a fire due to paper plates placed on cooktop. We first noticed smoke coming from range, my son grabbed the plates which burst into flames when he lifted them, he tossed all in sink which fire was put out and he held hand under cold water. This is not the first time burner has turned on just by bumping (microwave is above range and wife is not that tall).

Samsung oven model NE63T8111SS (SKU: 6412697) and had a terrifying experience with it. Today, we had a fire in the kitchen, and the cause was the overly sensitive knobs on this model. It appears that even the slightest accidental touch or brush against the knobs can turn the burners on, creating a significant fire hazard.
After our incident, I did some research and found that we are not alone; other users have had similar frightening experiences with this oven (see Best Buy, [REDACTED]). I tried to contact Samsung to no avail. Given the gravity of this issue, I strongly suggest Samsung consider issuing a recall to address the sensitive knobs and prevent any further dangerous situations from occurring.
Until this problem is rectified, I cannot imagine that this oven should be sold to anyone. Safety should always be a top priority, and this product falls short in this extremely critical area. We have children and pets and this is terrifying to have around.

The consumer indicates that the knobs to turn on the cooktop portion of his oven range are n the front of the unit. When someone brushes across them, it oftentimes turns the burner on to its highest level. This has happened once or twice per month since he purchased it. The consumer has removed three of the four knobs to avoid the issue.
The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to advised him to purchase a glass childproof cage to go over the knobs. The consumer did as he was informed however it is very difficult to manage when one wants to use the oven.
The consumer states that the cooktop is used once or twice daily whereas the oven is used three to five times per week.
The consumer plans on keeping his oven range for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

I have a Samsung slide in range, model number NE58K94 30 SS that has a bake mode and a separate broil mode. The range is almost 3 years old. Last night while baking the oven switched to broil burning everything inside and almost catching the parchment paper on fire. Luckily there were no injuries from this incident.
I searched the internet and saw numerous other complaints from Samsung Range owners who had experienced the same thing. One person did have a house fire as a result of the malfunctioning of the stove.
Many people questioned whether there had been a recall on the product, but after talking with Samsung service through the internet it seems there hasn’t been one.
This product is dangerous. Samsung is not protecting their customers and I will be financially responsible to repair an expensive faulty product.
Is there anything that you can do to support me and other Samsung customers from this shoddy business dealing?

I have a Samsung stove model #NE58F9500SS.
The knobs for the burners are on the front of the stove. The slightest touch to the knobs turns the burners on. This is a daily issue. I have had many things melt and burn on this stove top. This stove is out of warranty but I’ve called Samsung regarding this issue a few years back with no satisfaction. I called again today because I had plastic melt on the stove emitting fumes through my house. I have birds and the toxic smell would have killed them if I didn’t find it in time. From day one my husband and I felt this stove has been a high safety issue, and felt this stove should be recalled. I do not think Samsung is going to help in anyway since we are out of Warranty. I do believe there are many consumers who have bought this stove and are dealing with this problem. Before someone gets hurt or their house burns down, I hope this product can be recalled.

Samsung slide in range model # NE58K9500SG/AA glass stovetop has cracked and been replaced twice. Both times the stovetop was not being used and nothing touching it. The last time the Samsung tech said it was physical damage and not a defect which was totally false. Samsung replaced the top the first time but refused to replace it a second time. My wife was wiping down the top with a sponge and received an electric shock when water fell into the stove through a crack. We are continuing to use the stove because we cannot afford a replacement at this time.

The consumer indicates that the cooktop dials are too sensitive and two times already a burner has been turned on without the person’s knowledge. One of these times a dish towel was atop the cooktop and caught fire. The other time the consumer was cleaning the oven range when the burner turned on; the consumer was able to turn it off immediately.
The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative she spoke to took her information and informed her a representative would be reaching out to her in two days. They did not. She had to call again.
The consumer states that both the cooktop and the oven are used approximately three times per week.
The consumer plans on keeping her unit for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.
Report Update: They sent out a repairman to investigate. He said basically there wasn’t a problem because I could quit bumping, no one or nothing was hurt in fire. I asked why Samsung did not provide knob guards either with stove or those that requested. He said, “Samsung is not in the business of product safety items”. He is also checking out oven because even though oven shows for example 400 degrees, everything I’ve made has either burned or I’ve taken out early. He did not have a thermocouple with him so he is coming back on Tues, 10/26/2021.

On 5 different occasion my range has turned on and started fires. First time it burnt the drying mat I had placed on the stove top. Second time it melted the items in a bag of groceries that I placed on top of the range. Third time on 7/22/21, it scorched a pan that was on top of the stove. Forth time on 9/9/21, there were flames coming from the back left area of the range top. Fifth time on 9/20/21there were flames from a pizza that was on top of the range. The only damage that has happened so far is the flame marks on the wall that I have repainted over and the discoloration of the stove top. The knob are to sensitive and easily turned on by the slightest touch. My shirt touched the oven controls while cooking and turned the oven on. My kitten has been jumping on the stove and turning the knobs starting the fire. This oven is not safe to have . The last 2 fires have happened during the night and have been woken up to the smoke detectors going off.

Our Samsung brand oven overheats and could cause a fire. I began suspecting trouble a while back. I noticed that the kitchen felt unusually hot (hotter than a usual kitchen when using the oven). My second clue was that the knobs on the oven itself began to melt. I realized an oven shouldn’t be able to melt itself. I used the oven normally and cleaned it often so this was not the result of a fire or other misuse. Upon investigating further, I realized that the shelving around the oven is completely burned and warped, and could easily catch on fire from the heat of the oven. These are standard shelves from [REDACTED] that should not have any problems being in a kitchen. I am quite worried that our house will catch on fire from the excessive heat of the oven. I have gotten mild burns on my wrists and hands just from the air being pushed out from the oven, not from touching any of the metal parts.

(10/2020) The consumer stated that there has been all sorts of problems with the product since it was delivered to his home.
When the broiler is used, smoke fills the apartment when the broiler door is opened to check whatever is cooking in the broiler. This causes all of the smoke alarms to go off.
The knobs on the front of the stove are very sensitive. If anyone brushes against them, the burners comes on. The touch pad buttons so sensitive. If brush against it, oven has started self cleaning or goes. Had to shut breaker to shut oven off. If starts self cleaning goes on can only stop it by shutting breaker off. Oven goes on also if brush against control pad. Safety issue.
P.C. Richard Service came 4/14/21 & said nothing they can do. It is design of the oven.
About six or eight weeks ago, the consumer contacted the firm about the broiler. A service technician was sent out. The technician advised the consumer that there was nothing that could be done about the broiler.
The consumer contacted the firm on 3/23 to tell them about the sensitivity of the knobs on the front of the stove.

My husband and I recently purchased this range and quickly discovered that it’s a fire hazard. For some strange reason, the knobs that control the burners are located on the front and each time someone in the household reaches into a cabinet above the range, our hips bump the knob and turn the burner on. This has happened multiple times and there is no other way to reach into the cabinet above without bumping the knob. I contacted Samsung about this previously to no avail. This evening, my husband reached for his vitamins and didn’t realize that his hip pressed the knob and about 10 mins later, we started smelling smoke so we ran downstairs and realized that the burner was on high and was burning my freshly baked cupcakes. This could have resulted in severe injuries or even death if the food on the stovetop had gone up in flames. Our smoke alarms work but we smelled the smoke about 1 minute before they went off. PLEASE check on this before someone gets severely injured or killed!!

Range fire - burners turn on VERY easily (with just a slight touch or bump), this has almost caused several fires but those have been caught quickly. Today, it caused a grease fire because a burner accidentally turned on while something was on it to cool off. It was large enough that the fire department was dispatched. No one was in the kitchen and had our smoke detectors not alerted us, the house itself would have caught on fire. All four of our children were home, as well as both of us (parents) and several pets. My spouse and I are having some upper respiratory effects because of smoke inhalation in attempting to contain the fire until the fire department could arrive.

I have a Samsung induction cooktop (model # NZ36K788OU) that we purchased and had professionally installed in 2018. It has capacitive touch controls that have on multiple occasions been activated by hot liquid splattering from a pot or pan that is in use. Last August liquid from on pan set an adjacent burner to max causing the sauce that was previously simmering to burn and fill our house with smoke. I’ve replicated the problem multiple time, including doing so for a Samsung technician who came to inspect the cooktop. I have a video showing how this works. Communicating through the technician who came to our house, the people at Samsung indicated that this is just something that happens. There is no mention of this problem in the user manual.

I have a Samsung stove. The knobs on it are constantly turning on because of the unsafe position. You can be next to the stove and turn the stove on with your hips or stomach. It only take the slightest pressure or swipe to turn on the stove. I burned my fingers by accidentally turning on the stove. I had an iron skillet that was sitting on the stovetop and it heated up, but never should have been on. I also melted and burnt a box of [REDACTED] that were near the burner. I have a glass topped range that slides into a peninsula. I was working on the peninsula near the range with a flat tray that was on top of the range. The range had not been on. I let the room and came back to a smoking tray. The range knobs can accidentally be turned on on by reaching across the unit to get things on the counter. The pressure needed to push in and turn the knobs is minimal. This has happened before but was caught in time and nothing was in contact with the range top. Even cleaning the digital front of the oven causes features to light up for the oven but start has to be pressed for it to work. It’s possible to lock the oven features but not the range top. It’s a real safety issue.

My samsung range burners turn on just by bumping into the stove. They illuminate when they are turned on. Whiles leaning against the range, the burners come on. This is extremely dangerous. My mother never even turned oven on & she bumped & the flame was on. Often you are not aware you turned stove on. It has happened numerous times. I’m concerned about a fire occurring. I contact Samsung & they sent representative out. They stated it was nothing they can do, since the burners are sensitive. We just have be extra careful. A fire can initiate based on the poor craftsmanship of this product.

A second time, a handyman noticed a protecting towel burning after he must have bumped into an oven range knob. Approximately two weeks ago, the consumer saw a cleaning rag burning after he had bumped into the oven range not realizing that the element had turned on.
The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to said they could not assist him free of charge, and referred him to a local service repair to find out if the knobs could be adjusted. The consumer contacted the shop but all they do is sell parts. That would not improve the situation.
The consumer states that the unit is used three to four times weekly for four months out of the year. There are times when a burner is found to be on with no flammable materials nearby.
The consumer plans on keeping his oven range for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

My daughter pre-heated the oven as we routinely do, and the back side caught fire. I pulled the oven forward, unplugged it, and put out the fire with water.
As soon as it cooled down and the smoke cleared, I removed the back panel and found frayed and burned wiring.
I’m not sure if the next screen will ask this, but it is a Samsung range. The only number I could find on it was on the back panel: DG68-00100A

I bought a samsung range cook stove about two years ago. Ever since I brought this stove home it has been a fire hazard. Within the last two years i have encountered at least 5 fires on top of it. This is in result of being able to easily brush against the stove and caising it to come on unaware of it. This stove is very unsafe to be in a home it is so easily turned on that a toddler or a dog can do so. Yes I said a dog because my great dane has walked in front of thos stove and barley rubbed against the knobs causing it to turn on which resulted in a fire on top of it. No injuries have been involved yet. I have called multiple times to Lowes where I purchased this with an extended warranty and complained and asked to be able to get in store credit or to be refunded because I am afraid this is going to catch my home on fire without me home to extinguish it or even being asleep. This particular stove needs to be recalled for the safety measures. The last fire I encountered was today 9/7/18

Stove was purchased in November 2017. At first I didn’t realize that sound I was hearing upon turning on oven was dangerous. It was a small boom and I thought it was the grates expanding. In February my husband heard it and said it was delayed ignition and quite dangerous. I called Samsung for service but when the repairman came out it did not do it. So he didn’t replace any parts and he said to video it. After further complaints about safety Samsung agreed to replace stove. An exchange is in process now but it is taking weeks. Yesterday I used the oven and there was a distinct gas odor and a loud boom. I am not going to use oven anymore.

I own a Samsung stove/oven and the side walls for the rack support appear to be bowed, The oven racks no longer are able to support any sort of weight. As soon as a item such as a turkey is put on the rack it may hold for a few mins or an hour. Our incident is we were cooking a turkey and approx 2 hours into the cook the rack let go from the support and caused the turkey l and pan and rack to fall, causing hot grease and drippings to splash smoking in the oven, I feel this is an item that should be addressed as the oven is not very well constructed and I believe is a very serious safety issue as could cause a large fire or worse. We spoke to the company and they said basically too bad so sad. They were not concerned at all. I have read online blogs about this similar issue occurring with the same fault inside oven walls bowed.

We purchased our Samsung oven in March of 2017 and installed it around the end of March, 2017. This oven is a serious fire hazard. It is a slide-in range with the burner knobs on the front of the unit. You barely have to push the knobs in to turn the burners on and, as such, a simple brush up against the knobs turns the burners on. Due to this problem we have accidentally melted a cutting board, caught a pizza box on fire and, on two occasions we have unknowingly turned the oven on while grabbing a glass from a shelf above the oven and the burner was left on all night long. We have tried to get the situation rectified by Samsung and have called the customer service hotline and the warranty line. Both people that we spoke to said that this was a KNOWN issue with this particular model of oven and both people said that there was nothing that they could/would do to rectify the situation. We were also told that unless someone has a documented burn from the oven there is nothing they can do and that we need to ‘be more vigilant about the knobs.’ If this happened every now and then, we would try to be more vigilant but it is a FIRE HAZARD and happens frequently even when trying to be vigilant. In customer service we were told that there was nothing they could do. We asked to be escalated to a manager who told us the same thing. In warranty, they said all they could do was send us out the same knobs resulting in the same issue and there was nothing they could do. When I asked about replacement they said that wasn’t an option. We are at the point that we will be out of pocket the money ($1200) we spent on this oven in order to get an oven that is safe for our family if Samsung won’t stand behind their product and that is just WRONG. Also, in our online research this is a HUGE and KNOWN issue as several threads, websites and documentation of this issue with this model. Samsung seems to prefer a house fire, burn victim or worse before they are willing to stand behind their product.

We had a house fire due to a faulty design in the knobs on our Samsung 30” Slide-in Double Oven Flex Range model NE58K9850WG.
I came home from grocery shopping put my grocery bags on the counter and walked out of the kitchen. Within just a few minutes I heard a noise of something crashing and thought it was my son in the den down one level. As I got up to check on him, I heard more crashing and discovered ceiling tiles and spice racks crashing to the floor as my stove was on fire along with the microwave and cabinets around the stove.
The fire destroyed our kitchen but luckily we were home and able to locate our fire extinguisher and put the blaze out. When ServPro was working to restore our kitchen, cleaning up and removing items twice more the stove turned on starting a second fire.
The insurance and Samsung technician examining the stove both agreed the knobs turned too easily without much effort and that it was possible that I bummed the knob when putting my groceries down. Than the ServPro team likewise bumped it twice turning it on starting the second fire. They need to redesign the knobs so more force is required to push the knob in before turning. They also need to add a lock feature to the knobs in addition to the one for the oven.
We lost a pet Bengal due to complications from smoke inhalation.

My Samsung Oven Range has knobs for the stove that turn on too easily. In the six days we have had it I have unintentionally bumped the knobs while reaching into a cupboard next to the stove and turned it on at least a dozen times. Most of the time it has been while I was preparing food and was right there to see the burners turn red and was able to quickly turn it off. However, twice it happened as I was grabbing something and then left the kitchen. The first time a piece of paper had fallen onto the cooktop and the second time was a plastic bowl. Luckily the smell of something burning alerted us in time to prevent a fire.

On 12 January I turned on the oven to preheat. It was set to 400 - 425 degrees Fahrenheit. I walked away and a few minutes later I heard a crash. I walked back to the kitchen and the glass shards were all over the floor. I did nothing out of the ordinary and was not even around when the glass spontaneously shattered. I have used the oven several times before and the oven is only 3 months old. There was no damage to the glass. I have no pets or children and live with just my husband who is deployed. In an attempt to reconcile the situation, HH Gregg told me that they couldn’t help me and passed me to the manufacturer, Samsung. In talking with Samsung they flatly refused to help because they said there is no proof that the glass was broken due to negligence or if it was a defect.

3 month old Samsung Induction cooktop had electrical fire under the glass top. First smelled burning electrical, then smoke poured out from stovetop rear and sides. The only thing being used was one burner heating up water. After smoke cleared, soot was on top of oven door, floor and counter. I attempted to open oven door and was shocked by handle. The display lights for the cooktop then all lit up and went off. I then turned off breaker for the stove. Looking thru side corner with flashlight I can see soot and burned wires.

Fear of more serious Injuries or oven door breakage. Oven racks drop a full one inch after rack is pulled out 3 inches. Racks Bend with heavy pots, pans, or large turkeys. This range is very dangerous when using caste iron cookware. My husband is a tool & die maker of 37 years and is familiar with metal standards for the purpose of strength and safety of products and parts. DEFECTIVE Manufacturing and Design of oven racks/grooves and pivot points in oven interior. The latest injuries were Christmas day and about ten days ago. Danger of roasters or dutch ovens, etc. sliding Into the oven door. Racks bend in the middle due to inferior and insufficient wire gauge of racks. Horizontal Instability because of loose fit of racks within oven. I and my husband have suffered numerous burns on my hands and forearms multiple times due to DEFECTIVE DESIGN & MANUFACTUREING ISSUES of oven racks that drop and bend with heavy pots and pans or roasters containing large turkeys and roasts. The latest burns that I received were Christmas day and about ten days ago.
This range has a DANGEROUS OVEN due to DEFECTIVE Manufacturing and Design of oven racks/grooves and pivot points in oven interior. Dangerous INJURY could result because burns or cuts from glass of roasters/Dutch ovens, or cast iron/heavy cookware sliding into the oven door. I’m especially concerned about the potential dangers for children in any household in which such accidents could occur.
The oven racks bend in the middle due to inferior and insufficient wire gauge of racks and there is horizontal instability because of loose fit of racks side-to-side.
When a rack is pulled out about 3 inches, the front of the rack drops suddenly a full one Inch; the weight of cast iron cookware slides rapidly to the end of the rack. I have gotten burned numerous times due to this defect. It takes two people to prevent heavy cookware from crashing into the oven door. There is instability of the racks from side to side. Repair Technician from GEEK SQUAD suggested that this lack of proper fit could be part of the problem.
“I am a Proto-type, Tool and Die Maker of 37 years’ experience and I’m familiar with construction of metal for the purpose of strength and safety and I can assure you that this oven has not been constructed in this manner. First of all the wire gauge use to build the racks will not hold up to the weight of cast iron cookware and could be made of heavier gauge wire to accommodate the extra weight. Secondly, the clearance for the rack from side to side in the oven are clearly too sloppy and should be tightened. Thirdly, the bend configuration on the sides of the rack needs to be examined as it is a major part of the problem when in combination with the sloppy clearance issue and weakness of the rack itself, makes for a stacking of errors and greater possibility of failure.”
COMPLAINTS have been made to BEST BUY agents, GEEK SQUAD technician, the [REDACTED] and the [REDACTED]. We hand delivered one copy of our complaint to a GEEK SQUAD agent, yesterday on February 16, 2015. No one has addressed this problematic, safety issue to date.
Complaints have also been made to GEEK SQUAD under our GEEK SQUAD Protection Plan. This has not resulted in any satisfactory solutions to our ongoing safety concerns. The product, in the report: Samsung Stainless Steel Smooth top Convection range Model FTQ352IWUX
This is my 5th Samsung appliance that has been a fire hazard or burn hazard. The stove, model FTQ352IWUX, was purchased in 2008 with the matching fridge, dishwasher and microwave. We grill a lot so we rarely use the stove top and oven at the same time. I have noticed when I used both that the front edge of the stove top would get hot but recently I use the stove at a higher temperature than normal, 475 degrees, and was cooking pancakes on the front burner, which takes a long time. I went to lean forward to reach the back knob and was slightly burned on my stomach, through my tn-shirt. After turning off the stove and burner, I put a thermometer to it and it was at about 200 degrees! I emailed Samsung and they said that they would do a one time free diagnostic and repair of the range as a courtesy to us, I think it helps that I told them we have over 15 appliances and electronic devices from their company in our home. The repair company came out, found what I found and reported back to Samsung. Mind you, during this time, I was advised not to use the stove with no offer of meal compensation. I should also mention, my Samsung microwave is a fire hazard and was being defected out by Lowes EPP and I was also instructed not to use that too. I have three kids at home and neither offered to pay for our meals. I got a call from the repair company saying Samsung said it’s not repairable and will be replacing it. Got an email from Samsung to call them. I did and they offered me 50% of the price I paid for it! That’s it! 5 appliances from your company and you offer me 50% buy out? I have lost around $2000 replacing their defective fire and burn hazards. I can’t be the only one!
