No one hurt Made Sep 2, 2026, sent to the company Sep 4, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 21, 2026
The product, in the report: LG oven. Purchased Jan 2010.
On april 11, 2026 I was standing in my kitchen around 11:20 am and heard a loud crash. My LG oven door had shattered. No one used the oven that day or the day before. Nothing/no one was close to the oven- I was about 8 feet away with my back to it. There were no injuries. It was a huge pain to clean up and took about 2 hours total to cover the front so no more glass fell out and injured anyone - people were due to come over that night.

The product, in the report: Stainless steel with black glass range/stove.
While we were standing in our kitchen, the exterior glass door of our LG Thinq Range shattered with no interaction. The oven was off and had not been used that entire day. I had to clean glass out of the door and my floor before my animals and child got into it. LG is refusing to admit fault with a clearly unsafe and faulty device.

The product, in the report: LG instaview airfry 30 in glass top 5 burners 6.3 cu ft self cleaning Air fry convection oven freestanding smart electric range ( printproof stainless steel.
I have a range that has been experiencing issues with the left front burner. Even when the control is set to low, the burner becomes extremely hot. Because of this, I stopped using that burner and relied on the others. Recently, I turned the oven on and set it to 400°F. When the oven temperature reached approximately 175°F, there was a very loud noise, followed by flames filling the oven. Sparks shot out from the top of the unit beneath the control knobs, and smoke quickly filled the kitchen. I immediately covered the appliance with a fire blanket and turned it off, which caused the flames to subside. I then unplugged the unit. The oven was clean at the time of the incident, and there was nothing inside the oven that could have caused the fire.

The product, in the report: LG Oven Model# LSE 4611ST Serial # 107KMEMOR364
LG oven is defective and dangerous. The burners keep going on by themselves and has caused enough injuries to myself and family. Model # LSE4611ST Serial# 107KMEMOR364 The oven is on a recall and LG Corporation is dismissing my concern. Its 2 years old if that and Im entitled to a refund. Were Senior Citizens and their response was turn lock button when not using. My memory isnt what it used to be and I feel as though I should not have to take the chance of it burning us any longer.

The product, in the report: the knobs on the front of the LDE4411ST are easily turned on. Anyone can bump them, including animals. We had a baggie of cornbread sitting on the stove and the knob was bumped causing the cornbread to catch fire. This occurred during the day approximately around 10am. Luckily, my daughter was at open but sleeping as she works nights. She woke up to the smell of something burnt and was able to get the smoke and fire put out.

The product, in the report: LG oven/stove Model number LSEL6333D Home Depot SKU 315867662
My daughter and grandkids were at our home during the holidays. While just brushing up against the stove, it turned on. This happened multiple times. My daughter stated that this is very dangerous (and it is!) However it had not happened to me. Then it did happen to my husband and I in early January. I have since received the recall and they simply want to give us a sticker??? How will children or pets read a sticker?

The product, in the report: Range LSG4513BD/00, stainless steel, 30” slide-in model
I own an LG range LSG4513BD/00. I have had it installed for approximately two years. The issue I have been experiencing is the front knobs on this model are accidently turned on when walking past or cooking. There have been multiple times the stove has ignited, and there have been multiple times when it did not ignite, but instead leaked gas throughout my home. This is extremely dangerous and concerning. This range was purchased new at JC Penney and stored before installation. It is concerning and frightening to have this continue.

The product, in the report: Oven range
The consumer stated that he is having the same issue with his product as the ones that were recalled. The knobs on the front of the range are sensitive to the touch. In July 2022, the consumer leaned over the range to get something from the cupboard. He touched the knobs and the burners came on. On 9/27, his handyman contacted him to remind him to report it because the same thing happened when he accidently touched the knobs.

The product, in the report: Built-in oven range
The consumer indicates that his wife removed their oven range’s knobs for the first time to clean them with warm and soapy water. When done, they realized that the markings were removed, which the consumer believes is a safety hazard as a consumer may actually leave their unit on thinking it is turned off.
The consumer contacted the manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to advised him to advised him to purchase a special cleaner however when the consumer contacted said company, he was informed that it would remove any markings regardless. The consumer reached out to the manufacturer again and was informed they had no resolution as he cleaned the unit according to instructions.
The consumer states that the cooktop is used daily whereas the oven is used two to thee times per week.
The consumer plans on keeping his oven range for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: Range
Caller stated that pieces of the ceramic are chipping off of the top of the stove is unsafe because it can get in the food contents and be consumed. She stated that when cleaning the range there are shards that can cause lacerations. There have been no injuries sustained by this incident.
10/2022 The retailer was contacted, they advised her that they contacted the company and after much duration that the issue she was having was cosmetic not a safety issue and would send out a touch up pen repair kit. Caller feels that this range is unsafe and should be reported.
My LG range is a little over 4 years old. We purchase the 5 year extended warranty though Home Depot. Over the 4 years I have found bits of ceramic shards at the bottom of the oven when I wiped it out. The shards got more frequent so I got a flashlight and a mirror and found that by the two heating elements on the top of of the oven by the door were multiple places where the blue ceramic was chipping off. I contacted Asurion (the warranty company for Home Depot) the second week of October. They said that is could be covered because it was a “safety issue” but after waiting weeks for a response they said it was not a mechanical issue and they suggested a touch up pen from LG not a repair kit as stated on the form. I contacted the customer service manager from the Home Depot in Kingman after contacting the CPSC. She contacted LG they sent her instructions on how to clean the oven. She then sent the pictures and has not heard back from LG for three weeks now. She called me a week ago and said she sent pictures to someone internally at Home Depot that might help but I still have not heard back. This is is a safety defect. I looked online and viewed others that had this same issue with their blue ceramic oven. Not all of them were LG. With expansion and contraction with heat, I foresee this issue to continue:- I’m disappointed in Home Depot and LG for not responding and recognizing this is a problem, and being silent hoping it will go away. Who is liable if someone consumes one of these shards. And shame on these companies that make their automated customer service so difficult that one has to tum to the store you bought it from for help. Thank you and sorry it took me so long to respond to this letter but I was holding out hoping someone might care.

We purchased an LG slide in range about 6 weeks ago-model number Lsel 6337f. The knobs for the stove top burners are turned on (accidentally) by the very slightest bump. At least twice I have scorched dish towels because I didn’t know the burner (that I wasn’t supposed to be using) was on. Until the towels began to smoke and smell I had no idea the burners were on. We’ve had this range for about 8 weeks and in my mind it is extremely dangerous and clearly a fire hazard. Reviews noting this are on the LG website and across the web. Several mention children accidentally turning them on. I am not aware of any injuries.

On November 4, 2020, my wife and I purchased a new oven/glass-topped stove from Home Depot. As these are not under power at the store, we could not see the operation of the appliance. It was delivered and installed a week t later. Since then, we have discovered that the glass top stove feature has no indicator to show which burner is on or even hot. Twice, we have had close calls of placing a bare hand on a burner (not on) that was still hot enough to cause severe burns. In addition, there is only a tiny red light that serves as an indicator any top burner is on, without showing which one. This too, is a very poor design and is almost guaranteed to result on injuries or fire. We would not have bought this device had we been aware of the terrible flaw and ar present are considering returning the appliance.

The product, in the report: LG Model LTE4815 Double Oven Range with Convection Model MEZ57156606
DANGER!!! FIRE HAZARD. I bought a LG Range / Microwave combination from Costco in late September 2020 (last month). The microwave LMHM2237 is fine. The LG Model LTE4815 Double Oven Range is a fire hazard. It is fairly easy to inadvertently bump the stove top “burner” knobs that activate the stovetop burners and unknowingly heat up anything sitting on top. That happened to me twice about 2 weeks apart. Both happened in the past 3 weeks. The first incident, I sat a piece of plywood on top the COLD range to protect it while I removed the old microwave above it. I carried the old microwave to the garage and was gone for less than 5 minutes. Fortunately a friend was visiting, observed smoke coming from the stovetop and make a short video of the smoking wood before turning off the burner. I dismissed that one as a “one of” and blamed myself. Then, it happened a second time when I sat a plastic bin used to haul groceries from car to kitchen on the COLD stove top. I unknowingly bumped the far left burner knob and fortunately was present moving items from the bin into the refrigerator when I saw the glow of the burner coming through the bottom of the bin and resulting boiling plastic and smoke. It was a mess to clean off the stovetop but only because I was present there was no flames. The range would be excellent except it may burn your house down or injure your kids or you. Consumer Product Safety Commission and/or LG should recall the range and [REDACTED], and others should stop selling it until this significant safety hazard is fixed.

When two people are close to the range and need to get past and slightly bump the controls they will come on or change temperatures. The range has a lock out feature, but it hinders all the controls when cooking. No one in this household is comfortable using this cooking range. It has burned a few meals and also undercooked items because we had no idea the knobs were disturbed. Also burned a stainless cooking pot.We know all the controls were turned off when my 34 yearly son got something from the fridge and must bumped the range and it turned the burner on and the pot got hot enough to smell in the dining area, we were lucky on that one. The first incident was reported to LG and they said my model# was not part of the recall. The large burner would not shut off and got extremely hot. The control pad cracked because of the heat as well. I had to shut off the breaker to turn off the stove. They sent a repairman but the part for the model didn’t fit. I no longer can use that burner. The latest incident happened while using the oven. It was set on bake, 350 degrees. When I checked on my food, the broiler was on and I could not shut it off. Once again, I had to shut off the breaker to shut off the stove.

The product, in the report: Oven Range
The consumer’s wife was cooking and when she was done, she turned off the burner however the burner stayed on until the consumer switched the breaker off to the unit. When looking at the unit, the affected burner is the front and left one. The consumer switched the breaker on and the unit would not turn off. A few days later, the consumer switched on the breaker and it seems to be working properly now however he does not trust the unit will not malfunction again.
The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation however he was given the runaround. He was provided several service shops’ numbers however when he contacted the shops, he was informed that they no longer work for LG.
The consumer indicates that the same incident occurred on the same burner on 08/28/2009; the oven range repaired when he contacted the Manufacturer and they sent a Service Technician on 08/31/2009.
The consumer states that the oven is used approximately once or twice weekly whereas the cooktop is used two to three times per day.
The consumer plans on keeping his oven range for the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: LG range/oven model LRG3081ST
we recently purchases a new LG oven/range model LRG3081ST
On using it the first time we noticed how hot the range got--it was so hot that you could not even touch the dials that control the range. In addition, the sides of the range got so hot that we were scared it would burn our adjacent kitchen cabinets. On second use the same thing occurred--just incredible heat. We have not used it since We had an appliance service person come out and he reported that the temperature gauge was off by a 100 degrees or so.
We would like to know if other people have had similar problems, if any fires have been caused by the malfunctioning stoves and what we can do it getting it replaced.

No one hurt Made Oct 31, 2016, sent to the company Nov 8, 2016, published by CPSC Nov 23, 2016
The product, in the report: LG range model LG-LRE3083SB , smooth top range, convection oven, black.
I purchased an LG range, model LRE3083, on October 10,2016. It was delivered and installed on 10/18/2016. This range is dangerous. The trim piece on the front that connects the cook top to the oven part gets very hot - to the point it will burn you. I called LG and spoke to [REDACTED](reference [REDACTED]) to explain the issue and see if that is normal. They were not able to answer that question and told me to “use caution and when someone gets burnt to call back and fill out a product liability claim”. Not happy with that response. So, I called consumer safety line and spoke to a woman who helped me understand the guidelines for being UL listed. For this part, because I believe it is plastic, a temp up to 180 would Be considered OK. I utilized a infrared heat thermometer to check the temperature when the oven had been on at 400 for 1 hour. The readings I received were from 198.3, 195.5, 195.9, 193.8, and 200.3 degrees. The heat gun is accurate to plus or minus 2 degrees. It is well above 180 and is extremely dangerous. I am working with the retail store to see if they can take it back. They will be out on Wednesday to do their own test. I just think it is important for someone to know this and do something about it BEFORE someone (hopefully not me or my family) gets a serious burn. Model LRE3038SB, serial number 608MMNTOG351. Manufacture date is August 2016.

The product, in the report: LG Dual oven range serial number 410MMGR0B511
I placed an iron Dutch oven with beef stew in it onto the oven rack of my LG dual oven range (serial number is: 410MMGR0B511) and the rack slipped off of the support on the side of the oven and fell to the bottom of the oven. This happened when I tried each sliding rack on each support in each oven. Although nothing bad happened, there could have been a spill of hot stew all over me. This is a really dangerous situation. I think that the oven racks should be a tiny bit wider so they do not fall off of the support by slipping sideways. This is probably an engineering problem. I have written to the company, also.

The product, in the report: Oven Range
The consumer indicates that her oven range has really large knobs that when bumped into, turn the unit on unbeknownst to the consumer.
The consumer contacted the manufacturer and explained the situation. She was informed the gas line should not turn on until a clicking sound is emitted from the unit, but it does.
A Service Technician dispatched by the manufacturer changed a part that hooks to the knobs and valves but this did not fix the problem. The consumer contacted the manufacturer again and they want to send the Service Technician again but the consumer believes changing the same part for the same one it was replaced with would not fix the problem. The consumer noted service will not respond.
The consumer indicates that she uses her unit on average once every day.
The consumer plans on keeping the unit for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

I cooked my dinner and once we all at the leftovers were still in the pot on the range. All burners had been turned off. Several hours later i smelled burning food and came to kitchen to witness smoke coming from the pot with the left overs. The setting on the burner was on 1.0 yet the burner was bright red. I tried to turn it off but it would not shut off even though i had pressed the off button. I finally disconnected the range from the ourlet

Hurt, no treatment Made Dec 1, 2015, sent to the company Jan 5, 2016, published by CPSC Jan 20, 2016
The product, in the report: Oven Range with three rows of burners (middle burner is one single and long burner)
11/25/2015 - The consumer’s wife was cooking in the oven and some time later she opened the oven door to check the food. Immediately after this, the consumer put something to cook in the stove but when he went to turn the knob to the burner, he burnt his fingers from his right hand. The consumer states that the burner knobs are located right above the oven door opening and so they get very hot to the touch.
12/15/2012 (Approximate) The consumer indicates that the only other issue he had with this product is that the middle burner did not heat properly. When he contacted the manufacturer to report this issue, they sent out a Service Technician. When the Service Technician inspected the unit he informed the consumer that that was the way the middle burner was meant to function. The consumer left it at that since he states his wife rarely uses said burner.
The consumer believes this product poses a safety hazard to consumers.

The product, in the report: Double Wall Oven
5 year old LG double wall oven (top only) stopped working (during a preheat cycle). After having the chance to look into this, it appears that the connectors to or the high limit thermostat failed with the back of the thermostat completely melting down. After the connectors / thermostat failed, the live wires were free in the back of the and grounded themselves at least once on the back sheet metal burning a hole through and leaving scorch marks on the cabinet behind the oven. No fuses were blown and I believe the wires were live for the 2 weeks until I pulled turned the power off to examine the issue. No other issues could be identified. Luckily no injury or property damage resulted from the incident.
My concerns are related to how this oven failed and the fact that I will repairing the oven. The manufacturer was contacted but “was not aware of any issues relating to this failure”.

Around 9:00pm on 2/16/2015 the oven was turned on using the ‘bake’ button and set to a temperature of 350 degrees fahrenheit. The oven was heating up in a normal progressive fashion when all of the lights in our house dimmed and there was a brilliant flash of light, an electrical arc, and a loud buzzing noise. This continued until we were able to get into the kitchen and turn off the oven. I immediately went to our electrical panel and noticed that the circuit breaker did not trip and I turned it off while my husband waited upstairs with a fire extinguisher in hand. When he opened the door to the oven it was glowing bright red and there were small flames that extinguished themselves. There was a large amount of smoke that filled the house and set off the smoke detectors and we had to open the windows and turn on fans to vent the rooms affected. There is a strong burning odor that is often associated with burning plastic or electrical equipment that is profound. The oven is now cooled down, but it will not have power returned to it.

I purchased an LG range model LRE3083ST in July of 2014.
While using the oven, the stove top gets too hot to touch. The stove top is not 100 degrees, but 200 degrees plus.
I called LG, and they stated this was expected behavior. They would not send a technician to investigate.
I do not agree with their assessment of their product, and would expect a design of this type to be removed from the marketplace.

The product, in the report: LG Oven model #LRE3091ST
10 month old baby burned her hand by inserting hand in the gap between the oven drawer and the oven door.
Oven was on and door was closed. Oven is LG Model # LRE3091ST
A portion of the oven interior ceramic material extends beyond the oven chamber. This ceramic material is extremely conductive and heats up when oven is on. This portion of exposed material is unprotected (no insulation or physical guard provided).
Infant was taken to the ER and received treatment for second degree burns and required two pediatrician appointments for follow up.
LG was contacted regarding this matter and were unwilling to provide a solution to the design flaw, such as a strip of insulating material to protect the exposed area that heats up and can burn a person. While ovens are in use, it is not uncommon to open the oven drawer to get out a pan, for example. This exposed material can burn a person in the future as there is no guarding or insulation provided.
