The product, in the report: LG model LDE4413ST RANGE
We have one of the LG ranges you just recalled. It turns on very easily with the slightest touch to a control knob. Typical scenario cleaning top and leaning slightly against control. Particular problem for shorter person. This is an obvious design defect. It is ridiculous to ask people to turn on and off the control lock each time they use a burner.
UPDATED ON 2/10/2025: [I should have added that earlier in the life of this product, one of the dials would activate at least the sensors, setting off the beep that indicated it was on, when nobody was near the unit. The sensor light indicating a burner was on would also activate. The manufacturer sent a repair person who replaced the dial and possibly electronics and that problem stopped.. The repair person was also aware of the accidental activation issue.]
