The product, in the report: Oven Range
The consumer indicates that the oven had been turn off approximately thirty minutes before the outer layer of the oven door exploded. The consumer was standing nearby and received small lacerations on both of her lower legs.
The consumer contacted the Fire Department. When the firemen inspected the unit, they indicated that, based on their experience, the middle glass of the oven probably increased pressure due air or moisture, causing the outer glass to eventually explode.
07/05/2017 - The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation. The representative she spoke to informed her that she could either have a Service Technician inspect her unit in two weeks, or they could give her a discount on the newer version of the range (however with the same model oven); instead of paying over two-thousand dollars, she would only pay six-hundred and eighty-five dollars. The consumer offered to send pictures but was informed that it would not be necessary.
The consumer indicates that the oven has three layers of glass, and that the last time she turned the oven on to self-clean was approximately three weeks ago.The consumer states that she is unsure if she will keep her oven range for the next thirty days.

The product, in the report: GE Profile 30” Built-in Double Wall Oven
On 7/21/2014 at approximately 7:15pm , while sitting in the living room my husband and I heard what sounded like glass break coming from the kitchen. We immediately went to the kitchen and saw that the glass on the inside of the door of the top oven on our GE built-in double oven had shattered into pieces. Because the top oven is a convection oven I hardly ever use it. It has been months since last used. I only use it on special occasions (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.). The bottom oven is my everyday oven of choice. I had used the bottom oven this morning at 10am for about 40 min. at 300 degrees. The oven was off since 11am.
The oven is approximately 2 years old and was installed brand new. I find this an unacceptable for an oven that is new and hardly been used. We have taken pictures if needed.

The product, in the report: It is a GE Porfile in-wall oven. It is stainless steel.
Mother-in-law set the self cleaner on the oven and the glass inside made a loud pop sound and shattered. I feel this is not fault of our own and I would like to know what can be done.

First aid Made May 27, 2012, sent to the company Jun 5, 2012, published by CPSC Jun 19, 2012
The product, in the report: GE Profile Double Wall Oven model JTP54
My GE double wall oven model JTP54 has malfunctioned where the broiler wont turn off but there is no indication that the oven is on at all, which resulted in an injury. After researching it appears there have been numerous reported issues with this oven where this occurs, sometimes the oven reports a F1 or F2 error, at times (as in my case) it is not. My wife reached in the oven to grap a pan and expected the oven to be cool (as it was off) and she burned her hand. Investigating remedies.

The product, in the report: GE Profile double wall oven.
The outside glass on our GE Profile Wall Oven exploded and shattered all over the place. Glass flew at least 6 feet. No one was in the kitchen and the oven had been off for at least an hour. The oven was installed in our house (just built in 2009) in April 2009. Had one of us been standing near the oven we would have had glass hitting us in the face and most likely in the eyes. I did some research on the internet and found that this has happened before to the GE Profile ovens.
