The product, in the report: GE Built in Cooktop, Model # JGP328CEC2CC,Serial # FD778763Q, Color:Bisque

Knob on GE Built in Cooktop made large popping noises. Went to see what the noise was. There were flames and black smoke coming from the last control knob on the cooktop. Had to call 911 and the fire department had to come out. The cooktop had not been used for at least 2 days. This happened on its OWN. No one had touched it. This is a major safety concern for anyone who has this cooktop. Luckily, I was home to call the fire department. It could have damaged my home or worse. It could have happened while my family, with 3 small children slept. I can’t even image. Flames and smoke should NOT be coming out of a control knob! Especially by itself. This cooktop needs to be recalled right away. This is Model # JGP328CEC2CC. Serial # is: FD778763Q
