The product, in the report: Whirlpool gold series double oven.
My whirlpool Gold Series oven is unsafe. The knobs on the front turn to easily without having to push in to ignite. Many times they are turned slightly and the gas is leaking. We have woke up in the morning to smell the gas and discovered that the knobs have turned. It has been very dangerous and were always having to check to make sure the knobs are in off position. If you just brush up against them, they turn slightly and allow the gas to go without it igniting.

The product, in the report: Whirlpool Dual Microwave/Oven combo Model WOC54EC0HS20 Serial DB1613113 This was provided with the house purchase so I don’t know where it was procured from
We have a Whirlpool model WOC54EC0HS20 serial number DB1613113 when we used the clean function for the first time it shatter the inner glass. We were unable to cancel the cycle or turn the oven off. It proceeded to finish the rest of the cycle. When I contacted Whirlpool about this I was told that this was the way it was suppose to work and there wasn’t anything wrong with it. There were no injuries but not being able to stop the oven when its still running that hot is a problem

The product, in the report: Whirlpool Built In Double Oven Model Number WOD77E0HS
The inner glass of our Whirlpool double oven spontaneously shattered while baking a meal at 425 degrees. The fragments and tiny shards were everywhere inside of the upper oven and fell down into the bottom oven when we opened the door to assess the situation. This unit was installed less than 3 years ago in a brand new construction home and the manufacturer seems to have no interest in determining what could have caused the issue.

The product, in the report: KitchenAid dual fuel downdraft oven/stove.
Our KitchenAid oven failed while cooking a loaf of bread. We heard loud buzzing sounds from the over, and through the door you could see sparks, smoke and flames. It looked and sounded like welding. We shut off the breaker to make it stop. After cooling down and inspecting further, the heating element completely failed and burned through. It also arc welded a hole in the bottom pan in the oven.

No one hurt Made Dec 31, 2024, sent to the company Jan 24, 2025, published by CPSC Feb 7, 2025
The product, in the report: combination gas/electric range with oven
12/1/2023: All 5 of the range control knobs started melting off the shaft that they are connected to.
The consumer contacted the dealer, and they provided her with replacement new knobs. She placed them on the appliance herself.
(Summer 2024): The consumer had the range burners on and one of the knobs fell off and would not fit back onto the shaft. The consumer grabbed a pair of pliers and turned the knob controller off.
The consumer contacted the dealer again and they provided her with a second pair of control knobs.
(10/2024): She also called the manufacturer and reported the incidents. The manufacturer arranged for a technician from [REDACTED], come out and inspect the appliance
The technician applied the new knobs that the dealer gave her. After examining the appliance, the technician told the consumer that the manufacturer simply “made crappy knobs.”
(Around 12/24/2024): The consumer baked a lot of food, and the knobs began to fall off their shaft again.
The inside part of the knob that fits onto the shaft melts and causes the problem. Therefore, the consumer said that the shaft is getting too hot, especially with the same problem occurring on a 3rd set of control knobs. She called the manufacturer, and they offered her a 38% discount on the purchase of a new range. The consumer believes that they should replace the range at no charge.
The consumer noted that the dealer is attempting to work with the manufacturer on this issue as well. The consumer said that the dealer’s representative informed her that they sold a lot of the stoves and hers is the only one that has presented this repeated problem.
UPDATED ON 1/28/2025: [ I took the knobs off the stove and turned the bottom oven to clean. The stove got so hot that if you tried to put your hand on it you would have gotten burned. The shaft the knobs go on was as hot and that is why they melt off.]

The product, in the report: Double-oven range
The consumer indicates that there is fiberglass insulation underneath the bottom of the oven where the slots are located that comes up into the oven through the holes.
The consumer contacted the manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to informed him that the unit is not under warranty so they could not assist him free of charge.
The consumer indicates that the cooktop is used twice per day, the small oven is never used, and the large oven is used three to four times per week.
The consumer plans on keeping his oven range for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: This is Whirlpool model WGG745S0F02 serial number DA0310062 and the specific part for the stove for the stove that keeps on failing is W11241665. This is a standard size, Stainless steel model dual oven with cooktop (the cooktop grate is the issue)
I was using my kitchen stove Whirlpool model WGG745S0F02, I was heating water on the stove and the leg for the cooking grate broke off. This caused the pot of boiling water to tip and spill some water. I have spoken Whirlpool on several occasions in the past, as the part keeps on failing. The part number for the failing part is W11241665. I believe I am on my 4th or 5th grate, they all seem to be breaking in the same location on front left side, near the front leg. This has been going on since shortly after purchasing the stove. Last night was the most recent issue.

The product, in the report: Whirlpool or kitchenaid 30 inch double oven. Model: KODE500ESS Serial: D94905897 Stainless steel
I have a kitchenaid double oven that is about 3 years old. It is dropping screws from the inside ceiling of oven. The screws appear to hold the heating element in place. Two screws dropped recently. I checked the other screws and they are loose. No one was injured but someone in my family could have been greatly injured if they had swallowed or bit down on the screws. Whirlpool has been unhelpful in resolving the matter. This design seems very unsafe and could easily hurt someone. Model: KODE500ESS Serial: D94905897

I have a double oven Whirlpool range. As I was picking up groceries from the floor, a soft bag slightly bumped the edge of the lower oven door. The glass exploded and metal edges of the glass window both fell out. There were glass shards reaching all over my kitchen, some sharp. They flew even to the far reaches of the room.

Whirlpool 10.0 cu. ft. Smart Double Wall Oven with Touchscreen Model: WOD51EC0HS The top oven door won’t stay all the way down when it is opened. It starts to move up after opening and I almost burned myself multiple times as it springs up while placing and removing food from the oven. It causes a huge problem because you must both hold down the door leaving you with only one hand to hold very hot food. This is not ideal and a safety issue. If you look on the reviews of the product, many reviewers have mentioned this

The product, in the report: Double oven /cooktop range
Corrected Statement Caller is reporting that her electric double oven and cooktop gets extremely hot. She stated that the large burners in the front of the cooktop get extremely hot and cannot be reduced to simmer, items on stove continue to boil. The small burner in back boils when on “2” setting. Small oven temps are erratic.
Additional Information The biggest concern is that when the cooktop is off, but the upper oven is on, the outer edge of the cooktop gets extremely hot. While using the Precise Clean option on the upper oven this is what occurs. The cooktop is off, however the outer rim of the cook:top becomes extremely hot, after one hour the outer rim was 185 degrees, after 2 hours it was 232 degrees. The counter tops next to the range also become hot, 151 degrees.
Although the cooktop is off, the left front area of the cooktop reached 187 degrees and the right front area 189 degrees. During this time the “hot surface light” didn’t come on, however sometime later it did come on. This range has many faults, but this, I believe, is the most critical.

The product, in the report: builtin electric microwave oven combination - lower oven
We have a wall mounted combination unit: microwave on top and oven below. I was cleaning out the lower cabinet adjacent to the oven and my forehead brushed the corner of the oven’s lower trim. This resulted in an inch long cut on my forehead.
The oven trim at this location has a bent metal facing with a side closure. Where these two pieces meet a the bottom corner they are not joined and each presents a very sharp edge.
The oven is a Whirlpool model WOC54EC0HS, installed Nov 2019, and registered with Whirlpool.

The product, in the report: Whirlpool Wall Oven Model # WOS51EC0HS01
I purchased June 25 2019 a Whirlpool Wall Oven for a kitchen remodel.
When it was being installed on July 11 2019, the contractor cut his thumb on the bottom of the oven. The deflector (where heat escapes) is made of stainless steel and has a razor-sharp edge across the width of the oven.
I called Whirlpool July 12 2019 and they sent their associate July 16 2019 to install a new piece. When the associate arrived, we discovered that the new pieces had the same sharp edges so nothing was changed. He left saying there was nothing he could do. He suggested I devise something to prevent anyone from getting hurt on it. I don’t feel this is my responsibility and should be taken care of by the company.
This oven is in the wall and therefore at a child’s height and is dangerous for anyone who runs their hand near it.

The product, in the report: Whirlpool Combination wall over/microwave Model: WOC75EC0HS00
We owned the Whirlpool combination wall oven/microwave in our newly built house for 12 days. Upon using the oven for the very first time (self clean cycle) the glass inside the oven door shattered and blew out from beneath the oven door. This occurred approximately one (1) hour into self clean (medium) cycle. No one was injured; however, glass was all over the kitchen floor. Pieces of glass continue to fly from the oven onto the floor more than a week after the incident. The microwave seems to work, but a dim light flashes from in between the LCD control screen and the microwave that did not flash prior to this incident.

The product, in the report: Double oven built into wall
This consumer Purchased [his] home sometime in 2012 and the kitchen double oven built into wall came with the house. The house was built in 2001.
Around Memorial Day this caller was baking on low baking temperature 295 degrees for about one hour when it beeped one time then flashed error code L2F3. The caller tried to open the oven and could not open the door, he looked in and saw that the broiler element was red hot. The caller’s food was still in the oven however badly burned. The consumer tried to turn the oven off but since it is hardwired into the wall he could not turn it off until he turned the breaker off. He still could not open the oven door until he waited an hour for it to cool off, flipped the breaker back on and then he could open the door. Once he flipped the breaker back on, the broiler element again came on and began getting hot.
He turned the breaker off and called the manufacturer who sent a repair tech out the next day. The repair tech turned the breaker on, witnessed that the broiler element automatically turns on and begins heating to extremely hot and can only be turned off by turning the breaker back off.
The repair tech informed the caller that the control board or the thermostat has failed and that the manufacturer no longer creates the control board.
He recommended replacing the oven but at consumer expense. Consumer has stated that he can understand the oven going but not with the safety hazard as this one has and has requested that manufacturer replace this unit at manufacturer expense.

The product, in the report: Whirlpool range drop-in electric cook top
The numbers indicating the heat range on the knobs on the front of my Whirpool drop-in range have faded off, some completely. This makes it impossible to know if when you turn the dial, the temperature of the burner will be “high” or “low”. I had the knobs replaced in April and they have faded again.
