The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Pi Dual Fuel Pizza Bundle

Our Solo Stove Pi pizza oven leaked gas through an improperly crimped regulator hose immediately after using it the first time out of the box. There is a strong smell of propane when the tank is open, even when the oven is off. The smell also exists when the oven is on and burning.

Contacted manufacturer immediately for a new regulator and hose. They requested proof of address via a photo of a handwritten note on the stove.

This product is located at a secondary cabin property. Because I do not live at this location full-time, the manufacturer’s shifting and repetitive demands for physical proof have been incredibly burdensome and logistically difficult to fulfill.

It took weeks until my next cabin visit to take and send this photo in mid-May. The manufacturer did not respond to the photo. This was resent on 6/7. The manufacturer did not respond. I sent a social media message on 6/15. The manufacturer then responded to the original email chain stating they now need video proof that the hose is leaking gas.

I am not comfortable creating a hazardous gas leak to film a video, nor am I physically at the cabin to do so. By issuing multiple staggered requests months after the initial warranty claim, they seem to be delaying or avoiding this severe safety issue on a brand-new product out of the box.
