The product, in the report: its an oven , i dont have the specific dimension but a regular over with a microwave atop
I woke up on the morning of 6-7-2026 and discovered that the outer glass panel of my oven door had spontaneously shattered. The oven was not in use at the time of the incident and had not been used for several days. The last time the oven was used was several days earlier to cook a brisket for approximately seven hours, after which it cooled normally and was not used again.
When I discovered the damage, the tempered glass from the oven door had shattered into thousands of pieces and was scattered across the kitchen floor and surrounding area. No one was using the appliance, no objects struck the door, and there was no known impact, misuse, or abnormal event that could explain the failure.
The incident created a significant safety hazard due to the large amount of broken glass dispersed throughout the kitchen. Fortunately, no injuries occurred because the failure happened overnight while no one was present in the kitchen.
The appliance is located in a rental property, and I immediately documented the damage with photographs and notified the property owner. Based on the condition of the remaining door assembly, the failure appears to have originated from the oven door glass itself rather than from an external impact.

The product, in the report: GE Profile Built-In Combination Convection-Microwave/Oven Wall Oven
On Thursday, February 3, 2022, I was in my kitchen and heard a loud bang and loud whirring noise coming from my GE wall oven. When we opened the oven door, we saw arcing fire at the back of the oven and saw that the heating element in the back had melted. The fire burned out very quickly. There was black smoke. We immediately shut the oven door and went to the fuse box to turn off the fuse. The fuse had already switched off. I did not touch the oven until the next morning. As I opened the oven door, I heard breaking glass and saw that the glass insert in the door was completely shattered. I have called GE and a technician is coming Friday, February 11. There were no injuries to the four adults in the kitchen. The oven was turned on to preheat before roasting vegetables: Oven Model: GE Profile Model PT7800SH8SS, Serial # LR064436Q. Installed in August 2020 and operated normally since then. I had turned the oven on.

The product, in the report: GE 30 inch double wall oven. Model number JK5500SF stainless steel. Serial number MF609557Q
GE wall double oven (model number JK5500SF) caught on fire in my house. The heating element is burned through. I was cooking a baked potato on cookie sheet. There was. no flammable material in the oven. The oven was clean with no grease present. The oven was set to bake at 400F and never reached the setting. The fire occurred at about 360F. I was in the kitchen when the left top corner of the top oven ignited in a ball of fire. I shut the oven off soon after the fire. The oven appears to have contained the fire. I also shut off the circuit breaker to the oven.

The product, in the report: GE Cafe dual fuel 30” range with slide out oven drawer.
range top is gas. The knobs are easily changed from the off position to slightly on, leading to leaking gas. I woke up this morning to the smell of gas in the kitchen and it appears that someone bumped the knob. This has happened to us about a dozen times, and it is scary every time. I have contacted GE letting them know that this is a huge safety concern, and they say it is user error. Please note, we do not leave the gas on. We turn it off, but if someone walks by, it is easily bumped into the on position. I am marking this as happening today, but it has happened several times over the 4 years we have owned the range.

Hurt, no treatment Made Mar 20, 2017, sent to the company Apr 6, 2017, published by CPSC Apr 20, 2017
The product, in the report: GE Wall Oven Unit Model#JT912BOF1BB Serial#TD605537Q
On February 08, 2017 at approx. 07:42pm Fire Department was called out to my house. Oven was “On” I was preparing Dinner. My house was engulfed in fumes from the Fire that started within the Interior of the Oven walls. Inside the Oven no fire was visible. Fire Depatment gutted out the inside of the Oven; Racks, etc. Oven overheated and burned downward through the cabinet.
Per Fire Report “Faulty Oven” Possible issue with the Thermostat inside the Oven.
On February 09, 2017, I notified GE Electric of the Fire at 1-800-626-2224 due to I have a Service Contract with them. I spent approx. 45 mins explaining what happen. I was given a other number to call. GE Relations and told me my Wall Oven Unit is on the “Recall” list and not to worry ALL is covered; Property Damages and Personal Damages. GE Relations referred me to Electric Insurance at 1-888-456-7445. Electric Insurance sent out an Inspector [REDACTED] on February 11, 2017, As I greeted Mr. [REDACTED] at the door he informed me he was here to inspect an Mircowave?? I informed him it was a Wall Oven Unit. Mr. [REDACTED] inspected, took pictures and video stated “It wouldn’t have matter what temperature the Oven was “On” this is a Defected Oven. On February 13, 2017, Electric Insurance also sent out a Service Tech to inspect. As I greeted the Service Tech at the door he informed me he was here to inspect Microwave, I informed no it’s a Wall Oven Unit. As the Service Tech from MasterTex inspected and took pictures he also stated “interior fire inside Oven walls, defected Oven”. On 02/16/2017, GE Service Tech came out as I greeted him at the door he stated he was here to repair a Mircowave I made him aware it was a Fire in my Wall Oven Unit. He contact the main office and they had NO record of my report of the Fire within the walls of the Wall Oven Unit. Service Tech inspected and notified the office it would be approx ’$800.00 to repair and also advised if taken that route to repair instead of replacing th Oven with a New he would NOT make the repairs. I called Assurance my service contract with GE and notified them of the findings. They had NO reports of Fire within my Oven only a fire in my Microwave???? On 02/28/2017 no one has contacted me and the Oven is still pulled out of my walls along with the Mircowave. I emailed GE corporate office and got a called from [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] he stated he was sorry for all I had went thru and assured me all would be taken care of ASAP and due to my Mircowave sitting on top of my Wall Oven Unit with the Fire and Smoke GE were going to replace BOTH my Microwave & Wall Oven Unit FREE of charge. He also assured me he would personally over see my case. I asked him “what are you sure?” And he assured me “yes” both Wall Oven Unit & Mircowave would be replaced with a new one. On 03-11-2017 I received and email from Mr.[REDACTED] advising me he made a mistake and he was confused upon calling me. He stated NO NEW Mircowave would be replace. As of present no one from GE, GE Relations or Electric Insurance has contacted me. I made ALL aware my Wall oven Unit is safety hazard due to its on the floor pulled out by the Fire Department and the wired are still connected to the Wall due to the Wall Oven Unit doesn’t have a plug it’s just electrical wires. I have been living miserably ever since this happen. At time of incident I was over whelmed with Smoke inhalation. II wasn’t able to stay at my house for days due to the Smoke fumes. I stayed at my Mom house. My house was consumed by Smoke and tinted by the dust of the smoke. My white ceiling fans are tinted by the smoke, my drapes are dingy. My closet and clothes reep of smoke and the A/C ducts. GE is now telling me my Oven is NOT on the Recall List. In assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciate.

The product, in the report: GE Cafe dual fuel stove
I have a GE dual fuel stove purchased 4 years ago. I have never used the broil feature until today. Within 5 minutes of turning the oven on, I heard a loud pop. When I opened the oven door I found my inner oven glass shattered in a million pieces. While I realize my oven is out of warranty, I am more than certain my glass was defective and only broke when submitted to a high temperature for the first time. I can assure you the glass had not been previously damaged as I am the only person who has EVER used it. The oven has not been used with any frequency, totaling less than 100 hours of use. After researching this product on the Internet, I find that this is not at all uncommon. There is definitely a problem here!

The product, in the report: GE stainless steel wall oven
I set the oven to the self cleaning cycle. After the self cleaning cycle had ended and the door unlocked, I opened the oven to check and see if the oven was clean. When I opened the oven the inside layer of glass (the glass between the inside glass and outside glass - there are three layers of glass) shattered and glass fell out every where. This was only the second time I had ever run the cleaning cycle on the oven since we purchased and closed on the house on 3/1/13.

Last night we had our G.E. range model # JBP74MWW oven set to 450 degrees in order to cook a pizza.
