The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Mar 9, 2021, sent to the company Mar 19, 2021, published by CPSC Apr 2, 2021

The product, in the report: Gaggenau wall oven appx. 36” wide, model EB 388 610

Oven rack pulled all the way out and spilled hot contents. There is no mechanism to keep this from happening. I contacted the manufacturer, as there is information in the owner’s manual that indicates there are “latching lugs” on the oven rack that prevent it from being accidentally pulled out all the way. My rack does not have these lugs and the representative could not provide any information on them other than to say they are no longer available. There is no part number for these lugs and they are not pictured in the view I have provided of oven’s interior parts.

  2. Hurt, no treatment

Made Feb 22, 2016, sent to the company Mar 23, 2016, published by CPSC Apr 6, 2016

The product, in the report: Single Oven

01/20/2016 (Approximate) - The consumer indicates that her oven’s blue porcelain enamel is peeling off and is bubbled, with pieces of glass “floating” throughout the oven.

The consumer states that she has had various glass splinters on her fingers when she wipes out the oven for the same reason.

The consumer states that she uses her oven, on average, three to four times a week.

01/22/2016 (Approximate) - The consumer contacted the manufacturer and explained the situation. The representative she spoke to arranged for a third-party Service Technician to inspect the unit. The Service Technician informed the consumer that the oven should be doing that; he took pictures and sent them to the manufacturer.

The consumer contacted the manufacturer and they informed her that they are waiting for a review from the third-party repair shop as they have yet to produce data to them; when the consumer contacts the third-party repair shop, they inform her that they indeed sent the manufacturer all the information they collected on her oven.

The consumer has ceased use of her oven because she is concerned glass will get in her food.
