First aid Made Mar 9, 2026, sent to the company Mar 12, 2026, published by CPSC Mar 26, 2026
The product, in the report: Built-in stainless steel steam convection oven manufactured by Bosch. Model HSLP451UC/01, FD 9411. The appliance is a compact wall oven designed for steam cooking, convection baking, and combination steam/convection cooking. It includes a removable water reservoir that feeds the steam system and automated cleaning and descaling cycles that require manual removal of water from the oven cavity using a sponge. The oven is installed as a built-in wall appliance in a kitchen cabinet. The unit has a stainless steel exterior with a glass front door and electronic control panel. Interior surfaces are stainless steel and the appliance generates steam during cooking and cleaning functions.
The cleaning and descaling procedure of this Bosch steam convection oven requires the user to open the oven door while the cavity is still extremely hot and full of steam. The instructions require placing a sponge into the reservoir area to absorb hot water and repeatedly removing and wringing the sponge out until the reservoir is empty.
This must be done quickly because if the process takes too long, the cleaning or descaling cycle cancels and resets.
As a result, the user must repeatedly reach into a very hot and steaming oven cavity to retrieve the sponge. Each time the sponge is retrieved, hot steam escapes and burns the hands.
I have burned my hands multiple times performing the cleaning procedure exactly as required by the appliance. The design forces the user to place their hands inside a hot steam environment in order to complete the cleaning cycle.
Also, when you open it in between the steaming, the steam burns your eyes.
I believe this is a burn hazard and a design safety issue.

The product, in the report: Bosch 800 series, Dual-Fuel Slide-in Range, Stainless Steel, Model#HD18056U
Dangerous Flaws-
I have received two injuries from my new 800 series, Dual-Fuel Slide-in Bosch range, Model #HDI 18056U because of dangerous design flaws. It was purchased June 5, 2024. I have written a review on the Bosch website and was told to contact customer service. Customer service offered to send a claim for for medical services but I did not visit a clinic. They also offered to send out a technician to check the warming drawer’s function. They have not offered to relay my injuries to design engineers. Here’s what happened:
While cooking at the range I moved to the right to reach my sink. The warming drawer had opened (I must have inadvertently tapped it) and I tripped over it. I bruised my knees and cut my arm on the sharp edge of the drawer. It should not open so easily. I now have it duct taped shut!
My second injury was a serious burn received by leaning on the metal edge located at the top right corner of the cooktop. It only took a second. I had been cooking on the front burner and the corner was extremely hot. If a child accidentally touched his or her finger to the corner they would also receive a bad burn.
My biggest concern is that this does not happen to anyone else, especially small children.

No one hurt Made Jul 25, 2024, sent to the company Nov 14, 2024, published by CPSC Nov 29, 2024
The product, in the report: Under the counter, built-in- oven (electric)
7/1/2024: The oven was on for 10 minutes, set to 325 degrees “Convection Bake.” The consumer opened the oven door approximately 5” and the door’s inner glass shattered. The oven also seemed hotter than it should have been.
The glass covered the entire door. Pieces of glass flew outside the oven, and some were several inches long with very sharp pointed edges.
The consumer was not injured.
7/2024: The consumer called the manufacturer and reported the issue to them. The company scheduled a technician to come out and examine the oven.
The technician told the consumer that this should not have happened. However, it would be very expensive to repair. The technician said he would submit the repair paperwork, but with the motherboard panel needing to be replaced, along with other items, it would be very expensive to repair.
The consumer had further correspondence with the company and was told that her matter would be escalated to a higher level.
In the end, the company told her they would over 50% for the cost of the parts to repair the oven. The entire repair would be $2900 to repair the oven, but the company would cover $800 of that. - 50% of $800
The consumer asked for a replacement product at a discounted price and was told that due to the age of the product they would not replace it. The consumer asked if they wanted the oven back to examine it and the company’s rep. said no.
Additional Details- Oven set at325. After 10 minutes oven seemed too hot. I opened oven door about 5” and inside glass exploded near my face. Glass shattered in long inches – sharp up to 10”. Sharp glass shards not in a pattern of safety tempered glass. Oven seemed extremely hot and oven safety lock failed. This is a design flaw and a safety issue that can severally injure a person. Bosch technician said upon inspection – “this should not have happened” This was not due to age of oven. The large glass pattern of dangerous shards is not normal. The oven failed and heated to dangerous temperature and not safety lock happened (even though set at 325- temp was much hotter) I elevated issue to executive level. They refused to acknowledge a safety issue. Did not want oven back to inspect. Also refused to document anything in writing to me (only for themselves) recorded some calls. I used oven safely and not often. I have oven. I will save the glass pieces.

The product, in the report: Bosch built-in double oven model HBLP651LUC/01 FD# 950200111 installed 4/15/2015, doors oven side-to-side
The upper oven of a Bosch double oven model HBLP651LUC/01 was not heating up fast on fast preheat. The repairman traced the problem to a failure of the convection oven fan. When he removed the fan over, he discovered that the convection oven heater element has still operating and had overheated the oven back wall and the metal wall was deformed and cracked. Fortunately, the neither the oven or the house burned down, and not injuries were caused.

The product, in the report: Bosch dual fuel slide in range 30” Stainless steel
I have a Bosch dual fuel range model HDI8056U/02. Installed 9/20. When the gas burners are lit and the oven is on, the burners go out if you open the oven door. The gas seems to continue flowing and when I closed the oven door flames shot up from the burner and almost burned my arm. The repair service came to look at the range. They reported it to Bosch and were told Bosch was aware of the issue but didn’t consider it a safety issue. I consider burning your arm or hand and issue for the user.

The product, in the report: Dual Fuel Range
Started a self cleaning cycle on a Bosch Dual Fuel Range and during the cycle the interior glass shattered from the heat. We were lucky that the second layer of glass did not break and that I had selected the shortest cleaning cycle time. At the time the glass shattered both my son and I were in the kitchen in close proximity to the oven.

The product, in the report: Bosch 30” wall oven HBL8450UC/01
My wife was preheating Our Bosch wall oven one afternoon for dinner, as she prepared the dinner she started to smell an odd odor and suddenly heard a loud pop from the oven. She then turned the oven off immediately and called me in the home. By the time I walked in the door the whole home smelled like burning electrical and there was a slight smoke coming from between the stove and cabinet. I ran to shut the breaker off, yanked the oven from the wall had to remove the electrical cover form the top of the oven to find that the circuit board was back and the harness connecting to it was on fire... it had blown the terminal right off the circuit board!! I quickly blew out the fire.... thankfully no one was injured but this may have only been that I was home and took quick action, who knows if the fire would have progressed or went out. The oven was out of warranty so I called Bosch inquiring about ordering the harness bucause there website dose not differentiate between the multiple harnesses on there website. I explained what happened and said I needed the correct harness part number only to be stopped by the representative and told “that due to the safety hazard of the fire and melted harness that they would be sending someone out and all diagnostic, repairs, parts and labor would be covered... no need to worry!!! If It could not be fixed they would issue a prorated exchange offer that usually covers almost the whole unit...” Week later tech came out and said “that circuit board looked as if it had defective solder on the terminal...faulty circuit board” should be about a week and two days before we will have the parts. Week goes by and I call the service company who stated that Bosch never responded to them at which point I called Bosch and was not told that they were not covering anything with the repairs since I did not have the proof of purchase on file and the oven was 7 years old. I said wait a minute you guys said this was all covered before you even come out now its been weeks and you have a complete different story. I explained that I had the unit serviced upon purchase because there was a problem with the front control panel, the internal fan was loud and it would small like hot electronics from time to time. I said you should have the proof of purchase on file from that service. Oh and by the way you did address the control panel but never fixed the loud fan and the electrical smell... was told that is normal... hmmm was that circuit board heating up the whole time... Meanwhile I was looking for the receipt and found it... now I said ok I have the receipt. Was now told oh well that dose not matter!!! What you just told me you couldn’t repair without proof of purchase and now I have it and it dose not matter!!!! Bosch Is a bunch of lairs!!!! Dangerous Products and Scandal!!!

The product, in the report: Bosch built-in oven, 240V, 60 Hz Model # HBL8650UC/05 Serial # FD 890400069 Made in USA of US + imported parts
The Sabbath mode (190°F) malfunctioned, almost causing a house fire, scorching our food and the manual thermometer. The thermometer read 550°F. We are not sure how much greater temperature was, as this is the upper limit of the device. We believe this is a fire hazard. See thermometer, exhibit A.

The product, in the report: Bosch dual fuel range model #HDI7282U/03.
I have a Bosch dual fuel range model # HDI7282U/03. Our oven turns on when the power goes out and comes back on. It has happened twice. The first time I was sure I had turned the oven off, but blamed it on myself. The second time was during a storm. I had come down about 2 am to check the radar and no oven was on. When my husband got up late about 5:30 because the power had gone off during the night, he found the oven on to 405 degrees.
I have contacted the dealer and they suggested changing the panel, but I am afraid the same problem could happen again. I have also contacted Bosch and they are reviewing what they can do for me. It seemed like a serious problem that could lead to a fire. I now turn my oven breaker off unless it is in use.
